Question about 2005 Ford F 350 Super Duty

5 Answers

2005 ford F250 6.0 litre turbo diesel won't start. replaced both. turns over, won't catch. I have fuel out of the fuel filter and to the front of the block. I'm deployed to Iraq with no book for troubleshooting. I have check the fuel cut-off switch under the glove box. I have replaced the PCM on the fender and the ECM on the of the engine. I also change the oil and filter because the CAT engine wont start if the engine has the wrong viscosity it has to do with the HEUI pump.

Same thing happened to my F350 6.0 L 2005. The dealer replaced the high pressure fuel pump on the engine. It is currently working, but one month later the EGR cooler got a leak and it was replaced by the dealer. The internet states these are very common problems with the Ford Deisel. The fix is NEVER BUY A FORD AGAIN. I got taken, How do you feel.

This unit has to fuel pumps the primary on the side of the block may have a check valve failure causeing it to not give you fuel to the main pump on top. so check the fuel pump first also see if the fuel sock has colasped in the fuel tank. best pleace to get the informaion you seek is http://www.alldatadiy.com cost $24.00 and is good for one year and you can look up the service and recalls on it there.

'05 diesel sometimes won't start when it's hot. I can get it going by spraying starter fluid into the intake hose with the ign. key ON. In the on position the glow plug is off.
It seems like it's fuel related- something to do with oil pressure triggering the the injectors. Something about oil pressure not building up because of an internal leak in the standpipes-there suppose to be an improved standpipes design..
All I know it's annoying. I've let the truck run when I jump in and out of a store - but I'm afraid one of these days it's going to get stolen.

2001 Rodeo 2.8 Turbo Diesel running perfectly one day won't run the next. Seems to be after it sits for a couple of days. Any suggestions?

Hi Peter, If the vehicle turns on the starter all the time, and sometimes starts and other times fails, check the fuel filter for leakage. Sometimes air gets into the fuel system. When it gives problems, open the bonnet (hood) and have someone pump the pump on top of the filter housing. If it feels soft when beginning to pump, I would suspect either a leakage on the fuel line or the filter housing. If you need to replace the housing and filter, remember to fill the replacement filter with clean diesel fuel first. the glow plugs can also cause problems if one or more have burned out. Regards John

Why does my ford f350 6.0 diesel start then shuts off and wont stay running.

I have a chevy c3500 with a 6.5 turbo diesel, the times that it has happened

to me was because of a dirty fuel filter or water, most diesel have a bleed off

valve to dissipate any accesss water in the fuel line, on my truck is located

on the right front side of the engine . you bleed it off when the engine is

turned off. good luck

2005 Ford F350 SuperDuty 6.0 litre Diesel. Truck was very sluggish to accelerate and little or no boost showing on turbo pressure gauge. Next morning, it started fine, but when put in gear would quit and...

well the question is where did the coolant go. if it didnt leak out it must have went out the pipe. As you stated, white smoke, white smoke is coolant. You definately need to get this to the shop. You cannot drive it this way or further damage will occur.
