SOURCE: cant find the fuel pressure regulator on a 2000 mecury mystique

This vehicle is most likely a returnless system, only one fuel line to the fuel rail. If it is returnless the fuel pressure regulator is part of the fuel pump module in the tank.

SOURCE: Where is the fuel pressure regulator on a 2003 oldsmobile alero?

There are 2 fuel lines connecting to the fuel injector rail. The larger line is the pressure line and the smaller line is the return line. The smaller line attaches to the fuel pressure regulator. You will notice that the regulator also has a vacuum line attached to it. If you are planning on changing it your self, let me know. There is a specific way to change it for safety reasons.
Let me know.

SOURCE: 2000 Chevy Venture Fuel Pressure Regulator

use the pressure test port on the top of the engine, it is on the fuel rail that supplies fuel to the injectors, looks like a tire valve, will have a plastic cap on it.

SOURCE: fuel pressure regulator had no vacuum line connected

another engineers wet dream. think of it this way . what is normally in the intake when the engine is running.. answer vacume, hence the regulator gets its vacume without a hose connected to it as its already in a full time vacume chamber.no hose required . ps be carefull to seat the regulator and o rings securely into the housing befor you reattach the secureing metal clip.
good luck chris

It's right on the fuel rail (see pictures) and is just held on by a snap ring. Don't forget to release the fuel pressure before you remove it. Hope this helps.....

bleed off pressure by disconnecting wiring from inertia switch or pull fuse for the pump, start engine till it stalls. pressure will be zero.
pressure regulator is on fuel rail. They seldom go. If you are losing pressure overnight or low pressure ( below 40 psi), it is likely the check valve in the fuel pump in the tank.

Need step by step inst. to replace fuel pressure reg.

  1. First, you will need to depressurize your fuel system. Remove the Fuel Pump Relay, start the vehicle and run until it shuts off, should only take a few seconds.
  2. The Fuel Pressure Regulator is held in place on the Fuel Rail using a Retaining Ring, or Snap Ring.
  3. You will need to remove the Vacuum Hose connected to the Fuel Pressure Regulator before you remove the retaining ring.
  4. You need a pair of Snap Ring Pliers to remove this retaining ring.
  5. Once the retaining ring is removed, slide the old Fuel Pressure Regulator out, and install the new one. Lubricate the O rings on the new part and the fuel line before assembly.
  6. After reinserting the Snap Ring, ensure that it is snapped in place completely.
  7. Reinstall the Vacuum hose and reconnect your Fuel Pump Relay. Turn the Ignition to On, and check for leaks around the Fuel Pressure Regulator.
  8. If no leaks are found, proceed to start the vehicle.
