Power steering fail on VW T5 how can i fix this problem, can you let me know if i need to buy a new power steering pump or is there something else i need to check before purchasing a new one

tell the mate to fix it this time ,the magic reset failed
it needs service and can be lots of things
sure wires bad, and lots more.
what you failed to do is scan the PCM first.
but wait the mate saw DTC error codes and did not write them down and give them to you,.wow HUGE evidence lost.

is their pressure to rack---also new doesnt mean free from defects can have a failed seal in rack ---air bound

The pumps seldom fail, but the hoses do. Return the pump for a refund, saying it is incorrect.

Power steering pump or hydro-boost. Either one, you might want to see if you can buy rebuild kits for them first. If you can, kits come with a parts explosion diagram. Neither are hard to disassemble.

Attempting to drive a car designed for power steering without the pump will increase the effort at the wheel so you may not be able to steer it.
Go to a junkyard and buy a used pump, cost you less.

are the pipes on the right way around as never seen this before to be honest so either a blockage in the pump outlet or the pump has failed but i have never seen this before as when the pump fails is just doesnt pressurise

your vechicle has the electronic power steering.which is controlled by power steering module the power steering module receive information from the torque sensors in steering wheel and vechicle speed sensor.when speeds are slowest the steering input that tracks the amount of power assist.THIS TYPE POWER STEERING UNIT DEALERSHIP FIX NEED DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT TO WORK ON THEM.

Check the drive belt to the power steering pump. If it is ok, it could be servo pump not supplying enough oil, all of this is mechanical. May also have something to servo compensator, but I unfortunately can not give any advice. Good luck

THEN TAKE NEW POWER STEERING PUMP ON INSTALL IN VECHICLE THEN BLEED POWER STEERING SYSTEM.FILL POWER STEERING PUMP UP NEW FLUID.WAIT FEW MINUTES.WHEN LEVEL DROP ADD MORE FLUID UNTIL YOU GET TO FULL COLD MARK.START ENGINE 15 SECONDS SHUT OFF CHECK FOR LEAKS. NOW CHECK POWER STEERING AGAIN ADD TO FULL COLD MARK.NOW RAISE FRONT WHEELS OFF GROUND.START ENGINES TURN STEERING LEFT TO RIGHT WITH OUT STOPPING IT DO SEVERAL TIMES THEN CHECK FLUID.ADD TO THE COLD MARK DONT OVER FILL.IF FLUID LOOKS TAN HAS AIR BUBBLES IN SYSTEM WAIT A WHILE UNTIL FLUID SETTLE CHECK FLUID LEVEL.DONT DRIVE VECHICLE UNTIL STEERING FEELS NORMAL.AND IF YOU HEAR NOISES.LOCATE PROBLEM FIX BEFORE DRIVING VECHICLE.

2008 escape power steering just went out. Need to know how/ what to get to fix it cheaper then ford dealership. They say I need a steering column
