How do you drain the fuel tank of a 98 ford f250

I need to drain the gas out of my 98 ford f250. The gas is 4-6 years old and the vehicle will not fire unless I use starter fluid in the carburetor. It will run when I do this. I plan on replacing the fuel and changing the fuel filter. Then trying to start.

If you do plan on replacing the fuel filter, just take the filter off and see if you can just run the fuel pump and catch the fuel in a gas can.

I'd be inclined to drop the bowl off the carburetor and make sure the needle and seat aren't stuck and that the float is opening and closing the needle.

I have a 1999 ford f250 super duty xl that needs to have it's fuel tank replaced.

It is possible to replace the fuel tank on your 1999 Ford F250 Super Duty XL with a larger tank, but it's important to make sure the new tank will fit properly and meet any legal requirements.
When replacing a fuel tank, it's best to use one that is specifically designed for your make and model of vehicle. This will ensure that it fits properly and is compatible with the rest of your vehicle's systems. Many aftermarket fuel tanks available, They will have the correct capacity, shape, and size.
It's also important to ensure that the larger fuel tank is legal for use on the roads in your area. Some states have regulations on the size of fuel tanks for certain vehicles. It's best to check with your local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to determine whether a 35-gallon tank is legal for use on your Ford F250.
Additionally, when replacing the fuel tank, consider the fact that larger tank means more weight, and also the size of the tank will affect the ground clearance.
Overall, it is possible to replace the fuel tank on your 1999 Ford F250 Super Duty XL with a larger 35-gallon tank, but it's important to make sure it is compatible and legal.

How do I drain the fuel on a 2000 Honda Odyssey? The fuel level is too low to siphon. I’m hoping there is a drain plug or some other easy way to empty fuel tank on this year?!

Fuel tanks do not have drain plugs ,if you can't siphon the gas you could use the vehicles own fuel pump to drain the tank . Find the fuel pump relay in the under hood fuse / relay box . Jumper where the relay plugs into it. Disconnect fuel line at the engine an drain into a gas cans .

89 f150 will start but after choke let's idle down it dies or if you even touch the gas. It had sat up for 5 years but the first time I got it started it drove for over an hour.

The damage is already done. Gasoline breaks down within 1 year. Drain and flush the old fuel out of the gas tank(s). Try adding Chevron Techron fuel injection cleaner to the replacement gas. That may work. However, you probably need to remove all the fuel injectors [if it's a fuel injected engine] and have them sent out to be professionally [ultrasonic] cleaned and tested. Fords are notorious for fuel injector problems. Also do a fuel system pressure test, as the bad gas may have damaged the electric fuel pump [located in the fuel tank(s). For a carbureted engine, you will need to have the carburetor overhauled or replaced with a rebuilt unit. NEVER let a vehicle sit unused for more than 6 months without first treating the gasoline. I always add a fuel stabilization product like Sta-Bil to the fuel, if the engine will not be run for at least 2 months or more. Adding these products after the fuel has gone bad [is already old] will not help. Then it's to late. Below is a link for Sta-Bil. I've used this product for over 20 years. It will save a LOT of grief, when storing vehicles or gas powered lawn equipment. See

There is not a drain for the gas tank in your vehicle. Very few if any fuel tanks have a drain in them.

the fuel pump in the front tank could be over heating causing it to shut down for a short period of time. gas in the tank acually works like a coolant for tank mounted pumps so less gas = more heat
