I suggest you check the pipes to the rear heater which are prone to corrosion and mystery coolant leaks.

The pressure cap on the engine coolant filler neck can leak when the housing becomes corroded and rough so the rubber washer no longer seals or the rubber washer becomes perished - note the cap should seal in two places so coolant expansion is pushed into the bottle and then sucked back when it cools but it won't do that unless the cap makes an airtight seal under the rim of the cap.

SOURCE: 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee leaking coolant and power steering fluid

Just a heads up, $10 bucks will buy you a seal kit for the P.S. pump. I topped mine off for a couple months, then the oring on the high pressure line (from pump, front center) blew and dumped the reservoir in a matter of miles.

The line can be a stinker to get off, recommend driving the car for a few minutes to heat up the pump a little. Don't forget the 20MM wrench.

sounds like the thermostat gasket is leaking. Might as well change the thermostat and gasket at the same time. make sure the hose clamp is tight sometimes it needs to get tightened up. could be lealking from the hose and running down.

Sarah, The Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on your Kia is located below rad hose driver side by exhaust manifold. May be a good time to flush coolant system when changing sensor.

My kia sedona 2003 is overheating is it the water pump

Probably not the water pump. The most common cause is rusted out/leaking underbody heater rear heater lines. The steel portions of the lines rust and leak coolant. The low coolant level will cause the engine to overheat. If overheated repeatedly these engines will usually warp the cylinder heads. This will cause severe overheating and may damage the radiator and other components due to combustion gasses entering the cooling system. A cooling system pressure test should be done to check for external leaks, and a block test can be done to check for the presence of combustion gasses entering the cooling system.Make sure to check coolant level in the radiator when cold, NOT in the reservoir on the inner fender. This could also be caused by something as simple as a thermostat or radiator fans that aren't working.

Will it cause problems if the radiator overflow bottle is broke? and what is the signs of a bad radiator thermostat?

Yes, it will cause coolant to leak and allow air into the cooling system. This can cause engine damage. Signs of a bad thermostat are the engine overheating, or overcooling.

Overheating from leak not visible

Hook up a cooling system pressure tester. If you have a pin point leak, the pressure from the tester will shoot coolant out of the leaking area.
