SOURCE: where do i find the pcv valve on a 97 sunfire

according to the repair manual i have, the pcv valve should be on the right valve cover for the 1997 2.2l engine. there is a hose attached to the valve. pull the hose off and unscrew the retainer. pull the valve out and inspect by shaking. if there is no rattle, replace the valve. 1998 2.2l engines are equiped with a oil/air seperator located inside the valve cover and require no maintenance. 2.3l and 2.4l engines are equipt with an oil/air separater attached to the side of the engine above the oil filter. if your vehicle gas a 2.3l or 2.4l engine, knowlege of the engine operation is required and should be checked by a qaulifed tech.
