Idle Air Control valve? If you give the car a bit of accelerator can you sustain the engine running? Once warmed up the engine will probably sustain itself needing no extra help. Once in this state if you turn the steering and the revs die to the point of engine stalls then this almost certainly time for a new IAC.

SOURCE: Check engine light stays on.

Perhaps you need to remember that the engine light is a victum and not a cause. Clearing the codes does not address the issue that caused it to come on.
Pull the error code and follow that indication. REMEMBER that codes are a CLUE and not necessarily the cause. For example, an intake leak will cause misfiring and that makes high hydrocarbons, and that may cause an oxygen sensor error, but the sensor being out of range is NOT the issue, but the result of the issue....

Follow the indications from the error codes. Reset, as you now know, does nothing.

SOURCE: just replace 3 liter vtec

  • P0335 is a Crankshaft sensor which is located behind the crank pulley a bit and down. Pull the connector and replace it. This basally helps the computer to direct the firing based on the positions of the pistons. Of course you want to check the connections on this and make sure it looks good before replacing it.

  • The P0135 is the bank 1 sensor 1 Oxygen Sensor. They don't work right until they reach somewhere around 600 degrees and if they don't reach that temperature they don't function. Then your fuel/air ratios is off. Bank 1 Sensor 1 is the first sensor running off the exhaust on the same side as cylinder 1.

  • The 3.0 1996 Honda firing order is indicated by the diagram I uploaded below.

ironfist109_70.gif

  • Based on the diagram the first Oxygen Sensor off cylinder 1 needs to possibly be replaced. Check to make sure the connections are nice and tight and not corroded.

  • After replacing an engine I always like to put new sensors in (like the Crankshaft Position Sensor) while it is sitting in front of me to avoid the getting to them after installation.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

07 Chrysler Sebring still not running right after replacing catalytic converter... please help a gal out!

Stop using it,the flashing light is a Class A converter ruining
misifire,so nothing was fixed so far

Sounds like you have cylinder misfires that ruined the
converter & only the converter was replaced.

The last thing you do, is the converter, AFTER you diagnose the systems to find out why it failed

The timing belt snap while i was driving 2005 4 door sebring i had it towed to the shop will it run when they put the timing belt on the car

Cynthia, unfortunately the engine in your Sebring is what is called an "interference engine". When the timing belt breaks on an interference engine, the valves stop moving and the still moving pistons hit the valves that are open and bend them. This requires the removal of the cylinder head(s) to repair the damage. A fairly expensive proposition, I'm afraid.

I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring that's been bucking

The best thing you could do is check for codes. Especially since the light has been on for a while. The codes will likely give you some clues as to where to start looking.

Rumbling noise coming from engine compartment.

engine size, etc., I can only make educated guesses, but here goes: You stated "My car will drive, but very slow hardly moving". My first suspicion is that you don't have a transmission problem, but the car is in what Chrysler calls the 'limp-home mode'. This occurs when the computer 'sees' a problem with an engine function or sensor that is serious, but not so bad that the car won't run at all. Limp-home mode allows your car to only operate in second gear so that you won't damage it further by driving normally, but won't leave you stranded either. Is your 'check engine' or 'service engine' light on? If not, check to see that it actually works by turning the key 'on', but not starting the car. All the dash lights should be lit for about 3-5 seconds. No matter what, you need to check your transmission fluid level (on a Crysler, should be checked with the engine running and in gear, NOT park or nuetral). Safety first, make sure someone is holding the brake on - please don't ever trust a 'parking brake' for this. If the fluid level is OK and there's no 'check engine' light you need
to visit a competent transmission shop. Probabably a worn front pump, torque converter, or a hung spool valve in the valve body, none of which is generally fixable at home. If you do have a 'check engine' light on, see a regular mechanic first as there is a mechanical problem probably not related to the transmission. Good Luck!

The Electronic throttle control light is on. Car will crank but won't start anymore. No check engine light is on. 2007 Chrysler Sebring 2.4L

You will need to have the electronic engine control module scanned for fault codes, there will be a code even if thelight is not on.

98 Dodge Stratus won't start

Best place to start is with "check engine light". Put vehicle in park, foot on brake, and cycle key on, off, on, off, on, then wait with pen & paper ready to read flashes of check engine lamp. Will be a 2 digit code each time. For example, flash, short pause & flash, will be 11, or flash, flash, short pause, flash, flash would be 22. In between trouble codes you'll get a little longer pause, then it will start to flash again if more than one code, which is quite possible. Also note that I say key to on, not start, just on.(normal run position) Then get back to us and we'll be able to better help you.
