SOURCE: Adjust headlights on a 2004 Saab 9-3

Check the fuse box under the hood on drivers side, it will be number 17 and a 10 amp. this vehicle has automatic headlight adustment when you crank the car. If the fuse is blown the lights will point down to keep from blinding oncoming traffic.

SOURCE: how do I replace my 2004 Saab 9 3 linear's water pump.

Re : the computer , they better cover it under warranty or they ****.
Re : the water pump , you have a leak and they say it is the water pump , I have no reason to doubt that they have honestly checked out the problem and determined that a new water pump is the only solution but , damn $ 1000 is pretty steep. I would look around for another mechanic for a second opinion and a quote. Avoid dealerships. Not sure what engine you have but i just looked in my saab with a 2.3 and hope I never have to do mine. I am pretty good with a wrench but I know there would be lots of swearing involved.

SOURCE: Saab 9-3 SE won't start!!!

My boyfriend was having the same problem with his 2002 9-3 and in reading the user manual i found the following...when the car wouldn't start this morning he tried it and instead of having to wait 15 minutes for it to start, it started right up. Oh and his screen didn't give an error.

Electronic starting interlock
(immobilizer)
When the key is inserted in the ignition, a
signal is sent to the receiver. If the signal is
verified, the engine can be started.
Each time the key is removed from the ignition,
the electronic immobilizer is activated.
If a fault is detected (e.g. in the transmitter)
”KEY NOT ACCEPTED” will appear on the
SID.
In this case, you can still start the car if you
turn the ignition key to ON and press one of
the buttons on the key.
Take the car to an authorized Saab dealer to
have the system checked.

If the car does not start
If the text "KEY NOT ACCEPTED" appears
on the SID when the engine refuses to start,
the trouble may be a fault in the transponder
of the key or in the receiver of the ignition
switch. Proceed as follows:
• Turn the key back to the LOCK position.
• Turn the key to the ON position.
• Press one of the buttons on the remote
control (the LED on top of the dash stops
flashing).
• Start the engine.
Try the other key. If it works, the trouble is in
the first key.
Call on an authorized Saab dealer for
inspection and correction

SOURCE: I have a Saab 9-3 TDi 2001. The engine warning

Hi
If your engine warning light has come on this is indicating there in a serious problem and the limp mode has been switched on to safe guard the engine. It could be a number things, but I'll give you some basic things to look at which may help you.

  1. Check all fluids are are the correct levels - engine oil, radiator water level in overflow tank usual beside the radiator.
  2. Also check transmission fluid level if it is an automatic, from the dipstick.
If all these are ok then check these areas:
  1. Air Filter and housing has no blockage.
  2. Fuel filter may need replacing or water separator is filled with water, loosen valve at the bottom of fuel filter and drain the excess water. Fuel should not come out just water if there is any.
If all these are ok then there is a problem regarding sensor faults, fuel pump timing, and further in depth diagnosis will be needed. Hope this is helpful, let me know how you get on.

Hi, i am looking to find out what the probable causes are for my saab 1.9 8v 2007 diesel to go into limited performance mode thanks craig.

Hi you really need to get the trouble codes read out the engine ecu but from experience the most likely cause is the EGR valve or throttle body.

Hope this helps

When i start the engine make noise for few seconds

It sounds like you need to check and replace your engine oil and oil filter. This will happen when it is cold and dirty and it takes time to get to the oil ports in the engine. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer. Thanks.
