Hi, Joe here to help. The cd changer is at fault. You need to replace the changer. The system is on a fiber optic loop which cuts out the sound if can not complete that loop.

Hi ccbfone, i had this on my disco, if you mean the multiplayer, i just used a cd cleaner disc to clean the cd lense. this did the job fine. hope you hear sounds soon.

you need to open the whole Glove box then only you'll be able to get out your CD changer

the 6 cd multichanger fits either in the glove box or on brackets in the boot, model is alpine cmh s630comes with fixings, all other interfaces are inside boot, behind bumper under hard black plastic cover. hope this helps
