Check fuses and wiring

In link below of owners manual starting page 223 fuse box diagram I see two fuses for lift gate, one for module and the other is for logic.

On video below it talk about adjustment of latch. If not opening right move latch around and attempt to open liftgate..
You might try closing latch with door open and push button to see latch open up. If it opens fine it could be binding when door is actually closed and latch needs adjusting.

I have a 17 Terrain which does not have power lift gate. Something I notice in the video was if you have power lift gates it says to step back when opening and closing because there are sensors to prevent someone from being hit with the door.

Hi there make all the button on key lights up as you press them one by one, if they does check for proper connection at the tail gate under the cover,

Might have an Owl, hides under the seat. This is a common fault to this vehicle, as it too look like an Owl.

check the drive line and "U" joints to the rear diff. probably not installed correctly and out of alignment

When you first start the car up it sounds like a power steering whine. Have you checked the fluid level? Also get inspected timing belt ?

i had a simular issue and it ended up being the power lock switch was stuck on my liftgate. also could be the linkage is jammed/bent or the little plastic keepers that hold it together came apart

The sensor of the tail gate can be faulty that's why it says open even though it's secured. I strongly suggest that you have the sensor replaced. You can find this inside the lid.

There is no solution and no good explanation. Very rarely a CR-V rear window spontaneously explodes. Not common enough to take to Honda.
