2006 Ford Freestar turns off every 700 miles, and after a couple of days I'm finally able to start it again. What is the problem?

I had the exact same problem, if you don't fix it ,it will get worse and leave you stranded at the most unoportune times. the problem is your inertia switch which is located on the right side of your cargo area in the compartment that holds your emergency jack. this switch has a button that you can depress to overide it's designed function is to cut off your gas supply upon an impact. It have become too sensitive and has failed. I hope that this helps you.

My 2006 ford freestar brake lights will not go off when we exit the vehicle unless we pull up on the brake pedal. However, recently it has been coming on in the middle of the night causing us to need a...

I would go to a dealer and get a new brake light switch and install it. I would also inquire as to whether or not there is a spring return on the pedal, beyond the normal master cylinder pushing back to its neutral state pressure. If there is not a helper spring to return the pedal to the fully up position, I would ask a dealer to check the master cylinder and vacuum booster. This could be a common problem on that year or model and it costs nothing to ask.
