SOURCE: I have blown-up my JBL rear woofer 86160 - 26W and
I just replaced my blown sub in my Avalon xls with a Kicker 07C84 and it works great. For the same price of a repair kit, you can just buy this new speaker. Why go through the hassle of repairing a 9 year old speaker. This speaker fits into the same cutout of the old speaker. All I did was splice the red and black wires within the factory plastic housing so I could still use the factory connector.

SOURCE: I have a 2000 toyota avalon and the woofer speaker
I bought a refoam kit from Midwest Speaker Repair - found them on eBay. Cost $23.50, including shipping. Had it in two days. Very easy prep and installation. I think the subwoofer sounds better than new, but I could be wrong. Best way to go. Worth every penny.
SOURCE: How to remove audio system 6 disc JBL system in Toyota Rav4 2006
remove the cover in the center of the dash and there will be approx. 8 10mm bolts holding it take them out and undo the wiring harnesses in the back, you may also have to take out the temp controls underneath the radio, depends on the model
Testimonial: "I went out on utube and found a video for removing this very system. Thank you very much for replying, it would be important to share that you should have a magnet extension to pull the screws out as not to lose them. You need a special tool to remove the cover, a phillips head, an ext magnet, and a 10mm socket. Thanks again for replying and for helping others with their questions. Great Job."
