Hyundai tucson trunk / cargo light does not light when either tailgate or glass lifted. Bulb OK on Manual switch on light housing. Where is the switch ? Checked bulb by switching to permenant on on switck on light housing. but does not work when set to door and tailgate or glass is lifted. Where is the switch to close circuit when back is opened.

take help of the following steps to remove rear bumper on ur tucson.

Open the trunk of your vehicle.

1. Unscrew all the screws on the inside plastic trim that covers your bumper to trunk connection.
   
2. Pry the plastic piece out with a flathead screwdriver. You will expose the bolts that attach the rear bumper to the trunk.
   
3. Unscrew the bolts connecting to the inside of your rear bumper. There should be four bolts.
   
4. Unscrew the two to four screws connecting to your bumper from the inside of the rear wheel tire wells. These screws are on the area of the tire well that is closet to the bumper.
   
5. Slide under the rear of your car. Use a flathead screwdriver to pop the plastic rivets out of place along the underside of the rear bumper. There should be four to six rivets.
   
6. 
   Squat behind your car and firmly pull the bumper off. There will popping plastic sounds, this is the pop-in-place plastic rivets that are the last pieces that hold your rear bumper in place.
   

The cargo lamp bulb housing is integral with he upper rear headliner trim moulding. To replace bulb housing the trim moulding must be replaced.

The Body Control Module (BCM) monitors the lift glass and the cargo door ajar switches. When the switch closes, the path to ground is completed, and the BCM sends a class 2 message to the instrument cluster to display the CARGO DOOR AJAR message.There are two ajar switches for the rear door ,a left an a right ,the third switch is for the lift glass ajar switch . All three of these switches splice pack SP410 At ground point G410

(Shouldn't have any readings when door(s) and/or window closed.) It's the opposite . switches are open with door closed , G410

It turns out it has nothing to do with rear door. Something about drivers door actuator. NO IT DOESN"T !!!!

OPEN THE LIFT GATE TAKE OUT THE TWO SCREWS ON THE SIDE OF THE TAIL LIGHT LENSE THEN PULL ON THE TAIL LENSE TO RELEASE IT FROM THE SELF LOCKING FASTENERS YOU CAN'T SEE, REPLACE ALL THE BULBS AND REVERSE POROCEDURE.

Today is your lucky day. Get inside of your vehicle to open the lift gate and then open the glass from the inside as well . From the outside of the vehicle with the gate down and the glass open you will see the cover on the glass held in place by two screws. Remove this cover to expose the micro switch for the glass opening handle. You will see a small white connector and with a little patience you can remove this connector. If the glass switch is bad your hatch will now open and your glass should close without having to lock the locks. The switch is a dealer item and goes for around $50 and a bit more dissassembly of window to replace switch/Handle. Happened to me and cost 100 just for them to tell me what was wrong. I used a stick to poke the safty latch for almost two yrs
