u start with no1 get the valves rocking which means turn engine over by hand til no 1 rockers one rocker is going up and the is going down u may have to turn the engine back and forth slowly
to see it . once u have no 1 rocking u can adjust no 6 valves adjust them with a little clearance so the push rod still spins freely

next look at chart
1 rocking adjust 6
5 rocking adjust 2
3 rocking adjust 4
6 rocking adjust 1
2 rocking adjust 5
4 rocking adjust 3

once u have made these adjustments recheck firing order 153624
try and restart engine if it starts the turn all rocker ajuster a further 1/4 of a turn and your done u may have too wait a bit of time for the liffters to bleed down after u do final adjustment if it dont start

hope it helps please leave rating and if u need more help let me know

How do you adjust the values on my jeep wrangler 4.0 6cyl

as they are hydulic you should not have to adjust them,if they are rattling,it's usually due to poor oil change history, try engine flush and you may have to remove sump afterwoods if the gunk blocks up the oil pickup, filters block and unfiltered oil then circulates throughout engine and makes lifters noisy,to check hyd lifters you need a "bleed down bar"to compress lifter and measure gap between rocker and valve,if it does have adjustable rockers then it's done with engine idleing with rocker cover off ,back off nut till it rattles, thentighen it down till it stops and then 1/4 more turn

Hydraulic valve adjustment

The lifters are not supposed to be adjusted.
Each lifter is a small "engine" itself.
They are supposed to be self-adjusting (this was changed way back in the 1950's).
If you are determined to adjust them, you will need to contact a place that builds race car engines, because there are procedures race cars use that adjust them.
Oh yes, you can also replace hydraulic lifters with solid lifters.
Some race cars do, and that is because, at really high RPM's, lifters can :"float", causing the engine to "top out" and not go any faster. I had that happen on a car back in the 1970's.
Be blessed.

Where is the gm code scanner connection on 1995 Olds Cutlass Ceria v6 3.1l? Where is the check engine light? Is it called service engine soon light. The car is running hot between 3rd mark and red. I think...

One fan may be faulty. There are also sensors for the fan(s) in the engine block that is seperate from both the gauge and engine controls.

Nornally one fan is operated from one relay as well. They should be on the firewall, just follow the wiring harness.

What type of ignition does 1988 cutlass ceria 3.8l have 1 or 2 ?????

BOTH types of ignition coils were used on 1988 Cutlass Ciera. Type 1 is a single unit with 3 coils built into it. If one coil goes bad, you must replace the entire unit. Type 2 incorporates 3 separate coils mounted on the control module. These coils can be replaced individually. (See picture below) You simply have to LOOK at your ignition coils to see which type your Cutlass is equipped with. Please note that these systems are NOT interchangeable.
