Check brake switch --trans cable and shifter
Probably a problem with the shift interlock system ,this a safety system that will not allow the gear selector to moved from park , unless the driver is pushing on the brake pedal . Brake switch , electrical wiring , locking solenoid are all part of the interlock system . Do your brake light's light when pushing the brake pedal ? Looking at a wiring to see what all is involved in the interlock system should be done to see what else if anything is involved . Some newer vehicles the BCM - body control module could also have a part in making this work.
Looking at the wiring diagram i see the BCM doesn't have anything to do with it. Free wiring diagrams herehttp://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb/
Enter vehicle info. Then under system click on transmission / transaxle , then under subsystem click on shift interlock .Click the search button then the blue link .

I would check the PARK / BRAKE electrical solenoid switch. Designed to not allow the driver to put the car into gear without stepping on the brake at the same time.

If it's a no crank condition, put your foot on the brake, shirt the gear selector to neutral and see if the engine will start. If it starts in neutral, you might have a faulty neutral safety switch which is located on the transmission. Very easy to change, but don't remove the steel alignment tool until you have it bolted to the transmission, Good luck, Gary

It sounds like the antitheft secutrity system has been triggered and locked everything down. This happens sometimes when the battery is disconnected. Try shorting across the starter solenoid with a screwdriver while the ignition key is on and see if the engine will start. If it starts and immediately shuts off, then it is most likely the security system and you will need to contact a dealership to see what needs t be done to unlock or repair it.
