How to set a timing in a 2005 ford focus

Timing chain or belt? Almost all timing gears have a dot that face each other when the timing marks are lined up. If you are not carful you can damage the valves while rotating the crank and came to the lined up position. However in a perfect world the top gear can be removed when it is lined up, and reinstalled with the chain or belt in place, it will be tight but you should not need to force it. good luck

2005 Mustang 4.0 electrical problem

Seems like a faulty voltage regulator, or that the wiring between regulator and alternator output is working intermittently. Before fiddling with the voltage regulator, clean the alternator plug, located on the opposite end of the pulley/belt. After cleaning, plug and unplug a few times, to insure a clean, solid contact.

I don't find any reference to changing a timing belt or chain on my 3.0L 2005 Escape XLT. Please clarify need to change belt or chain (which?).

twin chains. no need to change. timing belts are the ones that need to be changed sometimes as often as 40,000miles/60,000km!
Good luck!
