I will try to suggest a probable cause. If it does not help relist with more details about the symptoms so an Expert has more to work with. Like does the engine turn over? etc
The Ford products hae a switch under the dash and on the brake pedal lever. When a foot hits this switch it prevents the starter from working and cranking the engine. Sometimes the switch can be put back in place and then things will work normally.
Another possible defect is when the engine cranks and acts like it is not getting gas. There is a reset button which kills the power to the fuel pump. Look up the location of the inertia switch. They are at different places on different vehicles.
Will not turn over ?

On the engine there is a tube that supplies fuel to the fuel injectors, on that tube there is a valve, like a metal tire valve, this is the fuel pressure test port, you will need a special guage to check the pressure that screws onto that valve, Kragen and other parts stores sell this test kit, it is very inexpensive, about $20.00, but cheaper than having a shop do it for you, if you do the test and you have no pressure while cranking the engine then your fuel pump is bad, the pump is in the gas tank, a big job and dangerous due to chance of fire if you are not cautious.

If headlight do not come on, leave them on and start check ground and power.
If headlights do come on then locate the starter and fine something to tape on it, not too hard,
but before u can do this have someone set inside the car with the key turn in the start position...

Yes. You have to take the car to a ford dealer and have the new key programmed. This should solve your problem. Good luck.

Its probably the alternator. It will need to be tested on the vehicle with the engine running and the light illuminated. Measure the battery voltage with the engine running. It should be at least 13.5 volts. If it is lower have the alternator tested at a shop with a charging system tester.
