The car starts fine and runs smoothly for around 20 minutes but then the engine splutters and cuts out (as if it's stalled). My mechanic hooked it up to diagnostics and couldn't find any issues but it keeps happening! The fuel tank is nearly full/the battery is charged...could this be an engine/radiator/emissions problem? Thanks

I have a 2006, and I was just advised that it is the EGR valve, which cost 624.24 to replace. It is not a warranty item. Do you have any knowlege if this is an ongoing problem.

Same problem for me. The car would idle at about 2500 when started from cold and about 3 miles on would not idle at all, resulting in the revs dropping off when changing gear or stopping. Also rather jerky in top gear unless thrashed - numerous trips to the garage for air idle valve, injectors etc. but still a problem! Have just found out that GVs are a bit prone to carbon build up in the throttle body - mine was almost blocked - it now feels like a different car.

Try these easy things...take off clean and reconnect the battery cables, take to Auto Zone for a FREE computer hook up. More than likely if the battery hook up doesn't work it's the oxygen sensor.

When it stalls will it start right back up ? If not, does the tachometer register while turning engine over ?
