My 2007 Jeep Liberty has a rumble sound on acceleration. Cruising speed and coast to stop has no rumble. Idle is fine and no check engine light. Thinking it could be motor mounts. Does 2007 Liberty have mounts or other configuration? Thanks

2 things I would inspect, your motor mounts, and CV joints. If worn, one or both could cause what your experiencing. See if you can figure out where grinding is coming from, right or left side & check drive shaft CV joint on that side especially. Look close at both boots on them for rips or holes, where dirt has been entering.
P.S. a sloppy/worn CV joint can end up causing irregular wear on transmission as well, so don't let it go too long, if at all.
SOURCE: replace the engine motor mounts and the transmission mount. Would like to know how to do it. Thanks.
Check the frame mounts too. You will have to loosen the bolts and jack the motor up with a jack and a woodblock.

The flashing light indicates you have a big misfire that could damage the catalytic converter.. Being you were going uphill (under high load) this would indicate an ignition issue. You may have a bad coil or wires or a bad spark plug. The reason you could only go 30mph was because the computer was put in limp mode. This is a stratagy to prevent excessive damage to components. , Get it checked out ASAP

Check your TPS Throttle positioning sensor. Sounds like it has a dead spot in it or it is failing. May also be a wiring harness issue or loose connection at TPS too! If its intermittent then it will soon go out completely. It should be located on your fuel pedal. Remove it and check it with an ohm meter. Check resistance all the way thru from 0-100 percent. When it is not working it should do nothing and show no resistance. When it is working the resistance value will increase and or decrease as you turn the sensor.

Is your car a manual or automatic? If it is a manual, did you just change your clutch? I have a 2003 Dodge Neon and when I replaced the clutch the entire car shook; come to find out the clutch was not assembled right and wasn't balanced. I installed another clutch and it is fine now.
