2014 jetta se fuel gauge not working properly.

Some ideas here. It may be an issue in the headlights control module.

20 Amp Fuse, located on top row and in the middle, it is to the left of the 30 amp fuse. Fuse box is located under dashboard on drivers side. (2014 Jetta SE)

On my daughter's Golf the fuel gauge also gave an incorrect reading so I removed the fuel gauge sending unit from the tank and cleaned the "rheostat" for lack of the correct name, with some Brasso (cleaning agent for brass and copper ware) and the gauge was working properly again. While there you might want to check if the float itself is not holed, which will allow fuel to enter, causing the float to sink...

fuel tank does not have a separate fuse- more than likely you have a broken wire at the tank connector or a bad ground at the tank
