Have the SRS system scanned to find out what the error is and correct it. It is a stand alone system that does a self check every time the key i turned on. If the system comes back all clear, the light goes off and the system activates. If there is an error, the light stays lit and the system remains disabled.

I still have to take it to the dealer to have it scanned, don't I?

Not necessarily, I would call around to local repair shops and see if anyone has a scan tool that can access your system. High end scan tools can get in.

SOURCE: airbag light stays on

It could be many things. The airbags has it's own computer, so any malfunction in the system and it will shut off, turning on the light. The only way is to find someone will diagnostic equipment for SRS.

SOURCE: My 2007 Elantra's airbag light stays on. The dealers says it's not part of the recall. How do I know that is correct?

Whether it is covered or not goes By the fault code that is present whenever the SRS system warning light is turned on. Airbags save lives, fix it and fight over who pays later. Keep the all the paper work and appeal to Hyundai to help pay the bill to fix it.

07 Toyota Prius tire pressure light flashes then stays on can I reset it?

If tires are actually at correct pressure sending units inside tires may need new batteries. Tire shops can deal with this and usually offer to take care of this when you buy tires.

AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON; light with the exclamationn mark; and another light stays on all the time

Anytime your airbag light illuminates, there is a problem with the SRS system and the airbags will not deploy in the event of a collision. Have it checked out asap, if you want the airbags working.

My airbag light stays on how can i get it to turn off

The Airbag light staying on means there is a fault in the system. The airbags most likely will not be able to deploy in an accident.
The system fault must be identified and properly repaired to keep the light off.

Removal of 2008 Prius steering wheel -

with a small flat screwdriver, remove the 2 by 2 inch black plastic covers behind the steering wheel. one of them has a hole for the cruis control lever.
loosen but dont remove the two torx screws behind these covers.
allow the airbag to fall out into your hands.
carefully raise the two yellow retainers on the airbag wires, then pull the wires away from the airbag module.
then squeeze and pull the black horn wire from the airbag.
to replace the steering wheel, unplug all the wires you see and remove the 19mm nut holding the wheel.
then by hand wiggle the steering wheel toward you.
