I had the same problem with my 2003 denali and came to find out that it was the battery causing the problem. the battery with sufficient power will dictate the tps. if the battery is low or bad, it won't have enough juice to allow the tps to. work. get your battery checked.

SOURCE: gmc yukon has the abs & parking brake light

you have to fix the problem with ur brakes- first check the wiring ,connectors and connection clips to the abs sensors and modulator if looks ok than have truck scanned some auto stores such as auto zone / advanced auto do it for free the code will give u a start point towards fixing ur problem--visual inspection of brakes doesnt always show problem

Fuel enjectionsensors 2003 yukon

There are sensors all over the engine, none are called fuel injection sensors, each has its own nomenclature. Do a fault code test and see if any fault codes show up.

Where is the fuel filter located at on a gmc 2003 yukon?

Hi, the filter is clamped in a fixture mounted to the frame. See picture and instructions below, and let me know if you have any questions.

Except 5.3L Flexible Fuel Engine (L59)

NOTE On 2005-06 gasoline engines except 5.3L Flex Fuel the fuel filter is integral with the fuel pump/sender assembly in the fuel tank.
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  4. Raise the vehicle.

    Fig. Fuel filter-2002-04 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L engines

  5. Clean all the fuel filter connections and the surrounding areas before disconnecting the fuel pipes in order to avoid possible contamination of the fuel system.
  6. Disconnect the threaded fittings from the fuel filter.
  7. Cap the fuel pipes in order to prevent possible fuel system contamination.
  8. Slide the fuel filter from the bracket.
  9. Inspect the fuel pipe O-rings for cuts, nicks, swelling, or distortion. Replace the O-rings if necessary.

To install:
  1. Slide the fuel filter into the bracket. Remove the caps from the fuel pipes.
  2. Connect the threaded fittings to the fuel filter. Tighten the fittings to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. Turn the ignition ON for 2 seconds.
  7. Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds.
  8. Turn the ignition ON .
  9. Inspect for fuel leaks.

I have GMC Yukon XL SLT 1500 2003 with 89000+ miles. The check engine light came on a day ago. The truck runs great and no change with performance. What are the frequent most issues when the light comes...

jeeze, so many "common" causes. but THE most likely cause is an oxygen sensor out of range. replacing same and driving several miles might get you lucky and save some money. but note, a restricted fuel or air filter will likewise make this sensor report bad data and set the same code. in other words, don't ignore maintenance issues...

Buy the OE Flex Fuel Sensor on Ebay. There are people listing Original Equipment units by the same manufacturer who supplies GM. Their price is hundreds less than the dealer. Check it out. I bought one for my Chevy Sonoma. This part fits the 2003 Yukon too.

My 2003 GMC Sierra idles rough and cut off sometimes when turning.Replaced fuel filter and changed plugs.engine light stays on.Which 02 sensors do i need to replace first? Before converter or after...

Before replacing the O2 sensors, I would check the fuel pressure. You may also try to have someone pull a trouble code from the powertrain control module to verify why the engine light is on. Do not replace any parts until this is done, otherwise your going to be guessing at the root cause, and it will get expensive with part replacement.

2003 yukon cold start problem

alternator needs tested (scoped ) for any dirty power (spikes)...that simple test will eliminate soo many electrical gremlins i cant stress it enough.....causing bad floating grounds and computer misreads of sensitive sensors without tripping codes ... replace alternator if suspicious and watch your other seemingly unrelated issues disappear :)......i know i know i am using a crystal ball here tonight and going out on a limb about this one .... but humor me and test alternator before investing too much other time and money :) good luck
