SOURCE: i'm getting ready to replace propeller shaft center bearing on 07 frontier crew cab 2 wheel drive. is bearing pressed on or can it be replaced with out press?

You can use a long drift punch to knock the old one off. I use a piece of pipe that is the same size as the inner bearing race and drive it back on.

SOURCE: how do i fix propeller shaft center bearing

Most center bearings require that you disassemble the center flex joint, then remove bearing from the shaft which on some requires use of a press or some type of puller.

I have old Cushman trickster powered by 12 horse kohler, has 3 speed transmission, having trouble pulling trans from little bell housing, is something internally holding shaft? besides rust? lol

Assuming a traditional design it is probably rust and if fitted with a clutch pilot bearing, the gearbox shaft could be seized into it meaning considerable force might be needed to remove it. I have known them to be so seized into the pilot bearing that removing the gearbox actually pulls the bearing from the housing.

I want to replace the tail shaft carrier support bearing in my automatic gearbox 2006-7 BT-50 with the correct system or better?

I am wondering what tailshaft bearing your gearbox is currently using that your question implies is incorrect?

Apart from heavy commercial gearboxes and 4wd off-roaders the only gearbox tailshaft bearings I have seen are plain thin-wall bronze types that once installed must be line-reamed or broached for a good fit with the propeller shaft or drive flange. So far I have only heard about folk needing them changing. In 40 years I have never seen one that has given trouble.

How to fix clutch on 1993 Geo Prizm.

Hi Juztlove, I agree with you....The world would be a much better place if we all did! Is your vehicle manual or automatic? If its automatic each gear has a clutch and to that job is difficult and needs a very clean workshop. If it's manual and rear wheel drive, the first operation is to remove the propeller shaft, if it's front wheel drive, it will mean removing the front suspension and then the half shafts. Before you begin disconnect the battery. Remove the pipe into the clutch slave cylinder and drain the fluid into a suitable container. Loosen the bolts holding the gearbox mounting and the cross member. Remove all the bolts around the bell housing and then with the help of a friend and a jack gently pull the box towards you and get ready to support the weight. Once removed and out of the way, remove the bolts which hold the clutch cover (pressure plate) that is what holds in the clutch plate. Did I mention that this is not an easy job? It would be advisable to replace the pressure plate, clutch plate and thrust release bearing at the same time. When fitting back make sure that the clutch plate is aligned correctly and correctly centralized as the clutch cover is tightened. Here comes the good bit....Refit the gearbox using any appropriate swear words which come to mind, until the spline shaft aligns with the clutch plate and then once it has, slide on the gearbox and begin fitting and tightening the bolts from the top. Refit the rest in the opposite way from dis assembly. By the way you can stop swearing at that time. Best Regards John.

Its a 2005 mk5 golf 1900 tdi when you get up to 70mph you get a massive vibration from the front of the car its worse if you dip the clutch ive removed the gearbox had it stripped and tested o.k,ive...

if it were engine/gearbox you would feel the vibration at a specific rev range (say 3000 to 3500)but you say that when you put your foot on the clutch it gets worse....at 70 mph....so look for something from the tyres, wheels, bearings, rotors, drive shafts,
the first thing is to have the wheels dynamically balanced(up/down/sideways)then check bearings......,going up in cost, always start with the cheapest parts as these tend to go quicker.

Passenger side u joint is rattling and need to replace

Axle Shaft: Service and Repair
Axle Shaft, Constant Velocity Type
Single cardan U-joint components are not serviceable. If defective, they must be replaced as a unit. If the bearings, seals, spider, or bearing caps are
damaged or worn, replace the complete U-joint.
REMOVAL
CAUTION: Clamp only the narrow forged portion of the yoke in the vise. Also, to avoid distorting the yoke, do not over tighten the vise jaws.
1. Remove axle shaft.
2. Remove the bearing cap retaining snap rings (Fig. 19).
It can be helpful to saturate the bearing caps with penetrating oil prior to removal.
3. Locate a socket where the inside diameter is larger in diameter than the bearing cap. Place the socket (receiver) against the yoke and around the
perimeter of the bearing cap to be removed.
4. Locate a socket where the outside diameter is smaller in diameter than the bearing cap. Place the socket (driver) against the opposite bearing cap.
5. Position the yoke with the sockets in a vise (Fig. 20).
6. Compress the vise jaws to force the bearing cap into the larger socket (receiver).
7. Release the vise jaws. Remove the sockets and bearing cap that was partially forced out of the yoke.
8. Repeat the above procedure for the remaining bearing cap.
9. Remove the remaining bearing cap, bearings, seals and spider from the propeller shaft yoke.
INSTALLATION
1. Pack the bearing caps 1/3 full of wheel bearing lubricant. Apply Extreme Pressure (EP), lithium-base lubricant to aid in installation.
2. Position the spider in the yoke. Insert the seals and bearings. Tap the bearing caps into the yoke bores far enough to hold the spider in position.
3. Place the socket (driver) against one bearing cap. Position the yoke with the socket wrench in a vise.
4. Compress the vise to force the bearing caps into the yoke. Force the caps enough to install the retaining clips.
5. Install the bearing cap retaining clips.
6. Install axle shaft.
