Passenger door ajar and alarm keeps going off. On a 2004 Lincoln LSE. Doors are all closed and the alarm beeps and the interior lights come on. This also happens at night when no one is in the car.

courtesy light switch , is door ajar switch an it's part of the door lock actuator . Light on coming on ? Not going off ? The ajar switch is a input to the GEM module , fords BCM - body control module . The GEM will energize a relay to turn on the lights .
The GEM will illuminate the interior lamps when any door is open or ajar. The interior lamps are; the dome lamp, the rear cargo lamp, the door courtesy lamp and the side rail lamps. The courtesy lamps will shut off when the doors are closed and the illuminated entry feature is not active or when the vehicle speed is greater than 5 mph (8 km/h). The interior lamps will not be reactivated until the vehicle speed is less than 3 mph (5 km/h) and a new door open warning lamp switch is received.
The GEM controls the interior lamps illuminated entry function by activating the interior lamp relay.
Mite be a good idea to have it check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .

The latch striker post needs to be adjusted. check for broken plastic roller on the post.

first I would be looking at the body switches for dirt or rust causing a false signal.. then I would adjust the part of the alarm that the wind affects..it should be adjustable for sensitivity..the dealer service should be able to advise you..if not check with an alarm service company..that installs these systems..good luck..

Check for the sensor at the door posts on all sides to see if it is grimed up or stuck. You may need to tape over it for the time geeing until you can fix. Good luck.

check all doors for a broken pin switch, this switch deactivates the ajar light and also shuts off and tuns on interior light when door is open or closed

you have a faulty auto alarm system have to have it tested

Hi there...this might be helpful. In each door frame of the passenger compartment, there are switches that activate/deactivate the door ajar/interior light when the doors open and close. Try spraying wd-40 type lubricant on them, use your finger to work the switch. Hope this helps.

Find out which door is showing ajar and replace the latch or door ajar switch.

I had this problem. I had to have a sensor in the door replaced.

check each door jamb button (can't think of the correct term). close all doors except one... push the button manually... does the interior light go off... if it does move on to the next door. that will narrow down where the problem is... or it should. it also could be the relay for the interior lights located on the fuse panel under the dash.
