Have a professional garage read the code for the airbag.
It could be the joint in steering that keeps contact when you turn the wheel.
And you don’t want to accidentally set of the bags poking around
If that happens you are looking at thousands of dollars to repair
The air bag system is not fused, if your light is on the system is disabled and will not deploy in an accident. Have it checked for fault codes
SOURCE: 2003 jeep liberty air bag light on is it easy to fix
The system needs to be checked for cades. Airbag codes are pulled out
of the ECU with the use of a scanner tool. A good auto mechanic shop
will have this or you can go to the dealer. YOU SHOULD NOT TRY TO
REPAIR THIS YOURSELF,YOU COULD ACTIVATE THE AIRBAG!!!!!

It probably will cost a few bucks to get the code reset, but you don't need to go to the dealership, most shops with a good scanner equipped for air bag code reading will be able to diagnose and reset the light. The most probable reason for the code is the battery being dead for a while, there is a capacitor in the airbag circuit to make sure the airbag can go off in a collision even if the battery disconnects itself in the process. There is a slim chance it might be something else but either way the shop should be able to tell you what the problem is, and get it fixed... But, just for fun, before doing all this, i'd disconnect the battery for 30 minutes to an hour and reconnect it back, some systems do effectively reset themselves this way.

You need to take the jeep to a dealer or a good mechanic who can retreive the codes out of the computer. You may have a module problem but I will not guess without knowing the codes.
SOURCE: airbag light stays on, fuses ok.
The airbag light will come on and stay on as long as there is an active code in the system. It will go off when the code goes to stored. Active means, something is malfunctioning right now so we will turn the light on. Stored means, something malfunctioned but is working now so we'll store the code in memory and turn the light back off. You really need to have the codes checked for an accurate diagnosis.
