Get a helper to pull and let go of the release lever while you look through the front grill at the hood latch. Your looking to see if the cable is moving.
If it moves try pushing down on the hood hard then pulling it up hard. Do it 2 or 3 times. Sometimes this will free it.
If it is not moving it will take a bit more work and a LOT of patience. Using a flat blade screwdriver push it through the front grille and hook the release trigger to open it.

NO there is no manual way . get a good flash light and look at teh latch through the grill or from under the truck and try and pop it with a long flat blade screw driver

If the cable link to the latch is rusty or broken you have to take the front grid down. It's relatively easy. It's held there by plastic fasteners. Then reach for the latch with you hand, or the leftover broken cable. Pull it, it should release the first latch, than you just have to get to the security latch, like you usually do to open the hood.

do you mean undone from the cable? if so, see if you can reach the attachment point for the cable and pull in direction of the cable to release

The cable has snapped. The easy bit is replacing it, the hard bit is getting the bonnet open to do so. Take it to a good local garage, or even to ford to open the hood, tell them you can't open the hood and say nothing. Let them open the hood for you, and close it slowly, just one click, so it it still latched, then change the cable.

You can pop out the intake plastic grid and access the hood lock mechanism from there
