Same this happened to me on my 2004 Rendezvous. The fuse popped out. Just push it back in. The fuses are located on the left side panel of the front passenger seat. If they are not marked there is a map in the owner's manual.

If it is a carb engine have the air fuel mixture corrected by adjusting the screws on the carb. Try also adjusting the idling.

For EFI engines see if you can check the Idle Control Solenoid Valve, have it cleaned. You can also check the oxygen sensor if it is working or not

Dear Smoker.......Sounds to a trained ear that this little guy is gonna need a fuel pressure regulator. It is basically dumping an excessive amount of fuel with the black smoke and all and once it gets warmed up it runs a little better cause it's out of the closed loop cycle. Check the fuel pressure regulator...pull the vacuum line off of it and if you can smell gas or see gas drippin out....that regulator is junk!!! The pressure regulator is on the fuel rail on top of the motor by the way...this should cure your woes.....if not..please get back to me... I HOPE I COULD HELP!!!

You have what is known as a ghost in the machine - - electrical problems that can be caused by crushed wires in shipping - bad connections while welding and backward hook ups of jumper wires.

I suggest you change out the battery and be sure ALL connections to the battery - starter and frame - are tight and - have the Alternator checked. - then come back after you see how that goes.
