disconnect the battery, put a piece of plywood on a jack and place under gas tank, remove the straps, lower the tank, remove fuel pump, change tank

SOURCE: 2000 blazer runs rough after gas tank was overfilled

there is a vapour purge line from the tank to a charcoal cannister. The line& cannister has been contaminated with liquid gas. When the engine attempts a normal purge from cannister it gets loaded with raw gas, causing rough running and cherck engine light. Replace cannister. Never over fill gas tank, especially on hot sunny days

Sorry for the new, but no. Your going to have to drop the gas tank on a blazer to get to the top of it.

it usally a good idea to replace the straps holding the tank in. as well as changing the fuel filter. since you are already under there.
