No, you just need to fill freon gas.

SOURCE: Blows hot all the time.

I fixed the problem. It was the blend door actuator, but the wheels continued to turn because the reset operation requires resistance to know when the blend door is at its limit for the hot and cold side. At least that is what I assume. If the actuator is tested off of the blend door, it will simply turn until it can't turn anymore. After installation, it worked fine.

SOURCE: My 01 chevy venture blend door acuator is not working.

Your blend door in the Venture is on the driver side of the van, under the dash just above your right knee at the side of your plenum. You will see a white arm that will move to adjust the blend door. The blend door actuator sits on top of the plenum held down with 3 screws. If you did not want to diagnose the problem you could just wire it in place for summer or winter. Personally I would try and diagnose the problem. Hope this helps.

2004 Chevy Tahoe: I changed A/C blend door actuator on passenger side and it's still blowing heat on my driver side?

Does the vehicle have dual zone climate control, where the driver side and passenger side have different control? Sounds like a blend door issue on the driver side. Why did you replace the passenger side, was it blowing hot too when AC was on?

No in 99 chevy silverado

Sounds like the blend door is not moving. Most blend door actuators are located on the bottom of the heater box near the middle of the car. If the temp control is a round knob, it is an electronic actuator.

Heater doesn't get hot on 96 chevy truck. Blows good, just cold. Replaced thermostat, flushed radiator. Any ideas?

Air Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat or no AC (dependes on where door sticks)

In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.

Other causes of no heat in the cabin are engine thermostats that are stuck open (engine runs cold) or air bubbles in the cooling system.

The fan works, air conditioning works, but the air wont heat up(knob turns to hot on thermostat). is it a vacuum hose problem, and how do we get to it?

The most common cause of this in the Ranger and the Explorer is that a part called the air temeperature control blend door acuator or the blend door shaft that the electric actuator moves has broken, this door is what shuttles between the heater core and the AC core and provides either heated or cooled air, or a blend of the two hot and cold air streams.

My heater only blows out cold air. When I first turn it on it blows out hot air for about 3 seconds then it turns to cold air. I have flushed the system twice, and that didn't work so I changed the...

check the vacuum lines going to the h-vac (under the dash where the blower motor is) make sure there are no vacuum leaks if there are no leaks start checking the blend door acuators firts locate all of them then start looking for the one that closes and opens the cold and hot blend door. turn the nob to heat and the other one to panel (not a/c panel just air) then if your not sure which one controls the hot and cold blend door start checking to see which acuator has vucuum going to them if there is vucmuum going to them but the acuator does not move replace it.but if it does compress take the rod lose from the blend door and see if the door in side the box is broken. if is not replace the climate controler on the dash. i hope this helps.
