It's possible that the locking mechanism in your Vivaro van's driver's door has become jammed or broken, causing your key to turn without unlocking the door. Here are a few things you can try to get your door unlocked:
Try another key: If you have a spare key, try using it to unlock the door. If the spare key also doesn't work, then it's likely a problem with the locking mechanism.
Spray lubricant into the lock: Sometimes, the locking mechanism can become jammed due to dirt or debris. Try spraying a lubricant such as WD-40 or graphite powder into the lock and then gently turning the key to see if this helps.
Use a lock de-icer: If the weather is cold, the lock may be frozen. Try using a lock de-icer to thaw the lock before attempting to turn the key.
Call a locksmith: If none of the above methods work, it's best to call a locksmith or a professional mechanic to help you gain access to your van.
In any case, it's important to get the issue fixed as soon as possible to avoid being locked out of your van again in the future.
Take the barrel out usually a small hole in side of ignition barrel case push a pin screwdriver in and check that no bits have broken off the barrel inside the housing or have you tried pulling the steering to the side as turning the key sometimes they jam rock the wheel as you turn key hope that helps

Hi,
it could be a jammed barrel and key within the lgn lock. have you tried "rocking" the steering wheel gently, and at the same time try and turn the ign key?
Visit a lock smith or somewhere like an Ace Hardware store and get a small plastic squeezie bottle of powdered graphite. With a thin flatblade screwdrive or piece of wire, or something similar. Ease the ign key slot cover to one side and direct a few squirts of the powdered graphite into the ignition key switch. Next insert the ign key and GENTLY rotate the key back and forth, as if trying to operate and switch off the ignition. This will give the graphite a chance to penetrate the lock mechanism.
After approx 5mins, try and turn the key as if to start the car. If the barrel refuses to turn as before, then you will need to open up the ign lock and check the base of the barrel .
Do NOT use oil of any form in the lock. Oil attracts dirt like a magnet and will foul the ign lock.
turn key twice when opening, ie turn right. once drivers door will unlock, turn twice passengers doors will unlock, and locking is turn anti clock wise once will lock all doors, turn twice will set door dead locks.dead locks will stop openand lock internal button working and handle from opening door. the same actions can be applied to the remote one press drivers door, two press passenger doors, press and hold unlock button for 5 seconds and rear window will open.
problem here can arise through the car always being locked / unlocked with remote, the actual barrel in the lock can sieze up, worst scenario is to replace the lock barrel, your local bmw dealer should be able to order you one which will fit your key (if it is original one ) you may need to show your v5 and take photograhpic id proof with you!
Hi,
I have ford mondeo ghia 2002.
when i press the button on the remote-key, I can lock and unlock the powerlock (in the door).
When I press the button un the door, not all doors are locked.
I would say you would have to take off the inside door panel and remove the mechanism and security switch to see why it is jammed in a locked position, even though you have unlocked the door the electric switch {maybe rusted} is still signalling a lock position, the switch may be located on the actual key barrel, but same check to see why its not moving into an unlock position.
hope this helps.
Hi, this sounds like the door barrel may have broken, to check it with the door open you will see a rubber sealing bung about 4 inches above the door catch, if you remove this you will see a 4mm hex bolt inside the door undo this and you should then be able to remove the barrel , this would not be a fuse or an actuator as the system works from the trunk and this works from the same system, hope this is of some help, regards mark.
