SOURCE: 1998 Chevy S10 pickup backup lights don't work

Yes it screws in on right side of tramission and you will need a 7/8 inch deep socket to remove it. You may be able to clean the old one once it is removed. There is a little ball thatgets dirty and may you can get by with cleaning it. Good Luck. Ed

SOURCE: 1988 Chevy S10 Durango Pickup, Won't start will fire

sounds like ignition module inside of distributor cap under distributor rotor button.these do go bad and can easily be replaced.strong suspicion from your details that this is the culprit.

SOURCE: Chevy S10 Pickup Starter. Removed the two bolts

Just changed a starter in a 94 S10 4x4. The only way to remove the starter was to take the passenger side exhaust manifold off and bring the starter out that way. Installation the same in reverse. Hope this helps. Don

SOURCE: transmission on my 2000 chevy k2500 4x4 pickup

your transmission has possibly been rebuilt with stronger springs put in. No worries. have been running mine for along while without any problems. Better this than slipping, but it is a bit annoying.

SOURCE: firing order for a 1999 chevy s10 pickup

I apologize for the late response...Due to the bad economic situation this site has had a substantial (+50%) increase in the number of questions being asked in the last four months.
I assume you have a 4.3L and not the 2.2L?

For the 4.3L:
Firing Order:
1-6-5-4-3-2

Cylinders:
6-----------5
4-----------3
2-----------1
(front of vehicle)

Distributor:
coil wire-->
-----6------->............<--------5-------
-----4------->............<--------1-------
-----2------->............<--------3-------
............(front of vehicle)

2002 chevy s10 turns over but will not fire after changing clutch

I can't imagine what could cause the engine not to start by just pulling the transmission out.
Are you getting spark to the plugs and fuel to the injectors ?
Fuel pump is running when you turn the key switch on ?

2002 chevy s10 turns over but will not fire after changing clutch

Are you saying, It cranks but doesn't start? You might have some wires pinched between the transmission and engine at the top.

2000 Chevy s10 manual changed starter still won't start the starter is spinning but the engine won't turn over.

Do you have the correct starter and is it grinding, this sounds like a bad flywheel or wrong starter or even a bad one. look at teeth of flywheel and see if they are damaged. good day

My 2000 chevy s10 pickup doesn't want to shift

Check your master and slave, If your slave is not fully depressing the pressure plate it would be very hard to shift.

Low fluid would not cause this. However there is a bolt on the side of the trans that you remove and put your finger in to check the level. If you put your pinky in and no fluid comes out it is low.

The slave often goes on the chevy's. It is internal, you have to pull the trans to replace it.

Also a pressure plate that is collapsing can cause the same problem. You are pushing all the way down, but it is not releasing.
Hope this helps.

Transmission Died

4L60E, it probably is out. The fluid isn't always a sure fire way to tell. A look in the pan can tell much more.
