SOURCE: car won't start and now makes a rapid ticking noise

all of this is result of low battery as all of you know but for the one who it wouldnt start and then killed your battery the rotary engine with its desing will flood after just a few attempts to start so most likley it was flooded and if your battery was already low than im sure you killed in a short amount of time

My 04 rx330 won't start got plenty of power in the battery but when I turn the key I get nothing

There are some things you can do to fix the problem. Check battery connections: Even if the batteries are charged, it is important to make sure the battery cables are clean and tightly connected. Components with loose or damaged wires can interfere with efficient energy transfer. Check fuse relays: Check the vehicle fuse box for any blown fuses or defective relays that could affect the starting system. Transmission Position Sensor: If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, the transmission position sensor (neutral safety switch) may not work properly, preventing the vehicle from starting into gear Start the vehicle in both park and neutral and check that is there any difference. Check for safety system problems: Some cars have safety systems that can shut down the engine if there is a problem. Make sure the security light on the dashboard behaves as it should and try to use a spare key if there is one. Starter Motor: The starter motor may be faulty. Turn the key and listen for the clicking sound. If you hear a rapid clicking noise, it could indicate a faulty battery or a faulty starter motor. Hearing a click once could indicate a problem with the starter solenoid. Ignition switch: The ignition switch sends power to the starter when the key is turned. If faulty, it can prevent the engine from cranking. Try to notice a change when you change the key. Fuel Supply: If the engine cranks but does not start, there may be a fuel issue. Check the fuel level and make sure the fuel pump is working properly. Check engine light: If the check engine light illuminates, a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may be stored in the vehicle computer.

Why are my gauges jittery and flickering when I start my car? Is this an indication of a major issue?

Check the tightness of the battery cables first. How old is the battery close to 4 years?

When i started my the blue high beam light flickered for awhile and then turned off , then the head light automatically would not come on only manually. Now the tail lights will not shut off! I disconnected...

Not knowing the year make or model car i can only guess here, but it sounds like the switch may be bad, try unconnecting the connector from the switch and see if the tail lights shut off, the flickering high beam indicator may be due from a faulty switch or high beam relay but if all works manualy i dont think its the relay.

It sounds very much like your battery is discharged, and does not have enough charge left to turn your engine over (the clicking noise is your solenoid trying to engage the starter, but it is not getting enough power to do so). The fact that your various little lights work does not indicate that you have nearly enough of a charge in the battery to start the car.

I think that if you have your battery charged (or replaced, if necessary), that will solve your problem. You might take the battery to Autozone or a place like it and have them check it for taking a charge (I don't think that charge for that).

Hope this helps you.

NO START

This problem can be three things. The ignition switch is a good place to start but its under a recall and you should not spend any money on this repair. The passlock system next to ignition switch should probably be changed at the same time and is also under a recall. The instrument cluster is the most probable in your case. The reason i say that is because the key is the headlights not turning on you may also have some lights on the instrument cluster flickering on and off at weird times. The speedometer or other gauges are probably not working all the time. if you are handy you can remove the cluster and send it out for repair. The tech who repairs this might even tell you that the instrument cluster has nothing to do with non start issue but it does. the passlock anti theft reads the ignition key when you insert it into ignition cylinder. Once you turn the key the ignition sends a signal through the instrument cluster to the pcm. the pcm will allow the car to start if the correct signal is recieved. If the pcm recieves no signal it allows the car to start for a second and then kills the car.

Remove the starter & inspect the contacts inside the starter solenoid housing. If they are burnt and/or worn, you will get this condition. Replace the contacts and the plunger, or replace the starter. I change contacts in my shop 3-4 times a week. Quite a common failure. The clicking noise is the plunger hitting one contact, but not the other, due to wear.
