If it starts back up, it's not the battery. Are you getting a check engine light? If so, check for codes. If not, clean the throttle body. If it still doesn't fix the problem, replace TPS. (Throttle position sensor)
More info required.. does it sputter..tick..smell like fuel. Are the tailpipes dirty. Is there lights on dash??? As much info as possible is always helpful. At this point it sounds. Like charging system..fuel system.. like a filter. Does battery light go on and off intermittently
SOURCE: removing the 2.7 engine from 2001 sebring sedan?
ok heres the simple version its alot of work
remove hood put someplace safe
disconnect all wireing and mark off with masking tape and marker
****** you need car lift ******
remove all plastic part molding from engine
find the engine hoist holes for chain to hook to
this is a unibodi design so the whole front chassis drops down
unbolt the chassis make sure to have the chasis blocked and stable
lift car while chasis stays on floor engine tranny and every thing inside hood comes down on the unibody this is how you remove an engine from a sebring
or you take to the dealer spend the doe cause you got a nice car and have it done right

Check the tranny fluid often, add before it gets to the add mark, it's best to not let it get low, this will kill a tranny. Check to see if u can determine where the leak is coming from so u can fix it. It could be a cooling line from trans to radiator, or front or rear trans seal. Best to fix the leaks, but if they aren't too bad, and u can't afford to fix them, make sure u don't let fluid get low.

SOURCE: 2001 chrysler sebring oil pressure light comes on
The oil pressure light is a serious problem...this needs to be looked at right away, or you face a seized engine (one that no longer moves). It sounds like the oil pump will need to be replaced. The reason the light goes out while moving, is that the engine is running faster, so the worn-out pump is able to create enough pressure to shut the light off. Don't hesitate to get this fixed ASAP! As for the A/C, it could be due to a lack of oil in the system (due to a leak) or a worn out drive clutch or belt.
SOURCE: when I slow down to a complete stop, my 1999
Possibly a transmission issue. The transmission has a "lockup" mode, where a clutch connects the engine directly to the transmission at cruising speeds. It is then supposed to unlock at lower speeds and for stopping. If it doesn't unlock, the car will stall at a stop. Try putting it into neutral (carefullly, so you don't go into reverse) as you slow down, if it doesn't stall out, it is most likely the transmission lockup mechanism.
If it stalls in neutral it is an engine issue. Bad idle control, bad ignition (it's easier to fire at high speed), bad fuel injector, bad air flow/pressure sensor... and more possibilities.
