    duh---from your question--duh
Isuzu run both timing belts and chains depending on the model
what is a dmax in one country is by another name somewhere else
and I get my information from 60 years in the trade and from autodata technical publication
    now a question for you
Why did you specify timing BELT if you knew it is a chain

a d max engine is a GM / ISUZU joint venture the d max is used world wide, top end diesel engine makers all use a chains the belts were made to create more money in the industry, same as the problem with emmission problems in EU they now want to ban all diesel cars creating more money for the industry. at the time i did not know it was a chain sorry for the miss info. regards paul

toyota use belts in their diesels and get really good reliability from them
There is one European car manufacturer that uses a chain from the rear of the engine that drives 1 cam shaft to the from where there is a chain connection to the other cam shafts
In this country , Isuzu is Isuzu and the GM is a Colorado

SOURCE: remove and replace timming belt on lanos sx 1598cc 1998 thank you

First remove head and fix the bent valves. I have worked at a Daewoo dealer. People would buy the belt and come right back to get valves and gaskets. Daewoo timing belts must be replaced every 60,000 miles.

replacing the timing belt does not change the firing order. the dist should only go in one way. the firing order is, 1 3 4 2

Yes, this engine isn an interference engine, and your valves will get ruined if your timing belt breaks. It is money well spent to replace it , and don't forget to have the water pump and tensioner replaced at the same time!

I just replaced the alternator belt on my 96 Isuzu trooper and after tightening everything and starting the engine ,neither the fan nor the alternator will turn unless I do so by hand

did belt fall of first or you took it off. first.???????????????????????????????
no engine size stated 2.8L or 3.1L Usa.
belts vary by engine,
belt mis-routed,did you make a drawing before starting.oops
or you set the tension wrong? read the book or guess?
or the auto tensionor is bad. (we always check this 1st.

now i read your fsm book on serp belt.
its a serp right>?

"some of the V6 engines are equipped with a serpentine belt and automatic belt tensioner. The tension is maintained by a spring loaded pulley/tensioner. The indicator mark on the moveable portion of the tensioner must be within the limits of the slotted area on the stationary portion of the tensioner. Any reading outside the limits indicates either a defective belt or wrong SIZE belt or bad tensioner."

question 3
did you take old belt and match it side to side
with the old, and are same size.
if not FAIL.
assumes old belt not lost or run to total destruction. (im blind tell me)
q4: did you put a a/c belt on a non a/c cars
see dotted line below, that be 2 type belts.

2007 Acura tl 3.2 110000 miles engine makes a clicking noise when idling& driving I'll done the oil change and transmission flush but still haerd the clicking

At 110000 miles it could be:
1. the serpentine belt or one of the idler pulleys
2. the water pump
3. the timing belt or one of its idler pulleys
4. to a lesser extent, the power steering pump
5. a valve lifter
Here is a video showing what is on the front of the engine
You may want to get a mechanics stethoscope and carefully start trying to pinpoint the noise [keep fingers far away from belts and pulleys, I know 3 people that lost finger tips this way].

Timing belt idler

The dealer will have a listing for the entire idler. Most shops dont service just the bearings anymore. It's a wash with labor to press them out and back in when you factor the extra time reading the number off the old bearing and getting one since no one lists them.

Engine won't start distributor won't turn

no your timming belt broke!!! now if you have a interference engine you will need a new car!!!
the only way to know is if you search your year make and engine size of your car..
you better hope its a non interference engine .. than just change the belt.. good luck. this is a basic timming belt photo . engine-start-distributor-turn-rbr12kxjqsqvwnu2khrshnjz-4-0.jpg

Is it necessary to take the timming belt off to replace the water pump on a 1996 isuzu rodeo

3.2L engine, you will have to remove timing belt to replace water pump, your water pump is timing belt driven, I would replace timing belt while in there, good luck, hope this was very helpful.

Have high tappet noise on my skoda octaivia 1.9 tdi, how do i fix this, changed the timing belt @ 90000km the car has done 110000 km so far

Run a bottle or 2 of "Engine Flush" "or alternatively some people use 200ml kerosene" through the crank case with the car idleing for about 10-15 minutes at normal operating temperature then drain the old oil out, change filter and put in the best quality oil matched to your vehicle specifications.

I need a diagram to sincronize the timing belt of my isuzu tropper 3.2 sohc

if this is 6VD1 engine it has single cam gear each head, but is still a 2 cams per head, engine
if belt has broke or you have turned any gear you must remove rocker covers to check positions of camshafts front lobes are in certain spot as well as timming mark on belt driven cam gear to cover
this cam gear is a 3:1 ratio (3 turns of cam gear = 1 turn of cams)

Timing chain or belt for a 2004 Honda Accord

It depends, 4cyl. is a chain, the 6cyl. is a belt and it is an interference engine. I have not done this one yet, but Hondas are never that easy.
