Problems with the driver's seat

The seat only goes as far as it goes. If yo need more room than your only other option is to remove the seat or recline the seat back and hope the load will fit over the seat.

Sounds like you lost basic settings for the seat. Recline the seat all the way forward and all the way back a couple of times. That should reset the settings and work properly

I would first disconnect and recommended checking if something is tangled in the track and make sure plugs in good

You must remove the motor, move the seat to the desired position and then reinstall the motor to lock the seat in the position.

I just bought a 2005 Nissan Altima that had the same problem. The motor was fine. I opened the switch and found that a trace on the small circuit board was cut/missing. I soldered it on the spot and it solved the problem. You can access the switch by carefully prying off the switch buttons, then the plate. There are two screws that must be removed so that you can pull the switch assembly out of the seat.

You can move the drivers seat back by turning on the power, getting in the seat and position your feet firmly on the fron flor with your back firmly against he seatback, and then engage the switch pushing back - while pushing like hell with your feet. You can actually hear the seat drive shaft turning while the seat moves back. The principle should be the same for moving forward, but pressure would have to be aplide to the back of the seat.

The guy that posted the first solution...that works...My power seat module went bad , so I used a 12 volt batery charger on the wires to move my power seats.

Motor on the seat may have gone out, contacts in switch got dirty or worn, or assembly reached limit and stuck. Try sitting in it pushing back hard and adjust. If not youll need to replace switch,b take seat apart to fix or replace.

its not the motor its the switch to the seat...it happ. to me b4.

I had the same problem when my husband was waiting in my car and laid the driver seat down, Well, it got stuck in the recline position so I took my car to the dealership and they said the motor was going out, which cost about $100.00, if I remember correctly. He took the plastic housing off the motor and gave it a few sharp taps and it allowed just enough juice to incline my seat back. He said if I didnt use it anymore, then I wouldnt need to replace the motor.
