I have had the alternator and battery replaced twice in my 1999 isuzu rodeo. The problem will start with the MPH gauge and the RPM gauge going haywire, and then the radio turns on and off or just turns off completely. We took off the alternator and had it tested 3 times the other day when it first started this problem, and all 3 times it tested good at Autozone. The problem is it still won't start, we jumped it off 4 times just so I could get it home. The interior lights work fine and it turns over, I can hear the starter clicking trying to turn on. Why is it not starting or what should I test or have replaced?
Check all your connections to your alternator, starter and your battery But you you are hearing the starter "click" but not engage..try tapping on the starter with a hammer if it is easy to get to..this some and sometimes does work..but your starter solenoid can be bad..the starter can be bad..igntion module a number of possibilities..goto your local parts store or public library and purchase a repair manual or check one out at the library
