what country? we can never guess that, and lighting laws, vary by.
drum roll, country. USA below....

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section. NOTE The rear lamp unit may contain up to four bulbs, depending upon the market for which the vehicle was manufactured. The service procedures for each bulb are the same, only the bulb sizes and types may differ.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  3. Remove the rear lamp unit from the end of the quarter panel, as follows:
    • Open the tailgate to access and remove the two screws that secure the rear lamp unit to the two plastic nuts in the side jamb of the tailgate opening.
    • Pull the outboard side of the rear lamp unit rearward far enough to unsnap the two ball studs on the outboard side of the lamp housing from the two plastic grommets in the quarter panel.
    • Disconnect the wire harness connector from the lamp socket plate connector.
    • Remove the lamp from the quarter panel.
    • Remove the two plastic grommets from the quarter panel and discard.
Firmly grasp the socket on the socket plate on the back of the rear lamp unit housing for the bulb that is being removed and rotate it counterclockwise about 30 degrees to unlock it.

My rear tailgate will not lock- had an accident where a car smashed into me in the rear. the tailgate was replaced but did not realize the tailgate would not lock with key chain lock or manual lock from...

If this is an original equipment replacement part should work just like its predeceser before the accident. Just check that everything is wel connected and in place by removing the panels and take a look inside.

I can't seem to get the tail light off to change the bulb, how do I do this

Open the rear tailgate and remove the two screws that hold the tail lamp assembly in place. Now there are two alignment pins that hold the lamp in place, you must use a screwdriver or other flat device and lightly pry the lamp your working on. If you are removing the rear left (driver side) then pry back outward to the left. Alternately, if you are removing the right rear tail light, pry outward to the right. Do not try and pull directly back. The pins will prevent the light from coming out. You have to pull left or right, depending on the light your removing. Good luck.

How do I remove the cover on a 2002 325i BMW tail light wiring? thanks

Do you need to change a bulb or are you changing to custom lamps. If it is bulb replacement open trunk/boot (depending where you live ) the access for the tail lamps is at the rear corners of the trunk, If you are changing lamp lenses or assembly remove the screws( same location ) at lamp corners
