Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Observe the seat belt indicator illumination during bulb check.
Does the seat belt indicator illuminate during bulb check?
YES - Go to Symptoms - Seat Belts
NO - Go to Step 4

With a scan tool, observe the Driver Side Belt Status parameter in the SIR scan tool data list while buckling and unbuckling the driver seat belt.
Does the seat belt parameter change state?
YES - Go to Step 8
NO - Go to Step 5

Test the signal circuit of the seat belt switch for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
YES - Go to Step 11

Test the ground circuit of the seat belt switch for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

I'm having the same problem. I unbolted the nut at the bottom of the seat and it allowed it to work again ... for the time being. I'm attempting to remove the 'assembly' and perhaps find a broken part, but at the present time, I can't tell how to get it out of the seat-back. The dealer says parts are not available for it, so I'm trying to locate a used one in a junk yard or buy one from an after-market supplier. [email protected]
also maybe put a battery protectant spray on the two ends to prevent future corrosion.

First check circuit breaker #8 and fuse #19 in the rear fuse panel. If these are OK, you will have to troubleshoot the seat heaters themselves (loose connector, broken wires, defective heater coil, etc.)
