4t65e transmission quadrillion miles. Does not slip or act funny at all until it stops . Just suddenly loses all power turn car. Off start again will drive again, drive time is proportionate to off time. Thank you
Your transmission is probably going into "limp" mode. This happens when the car's computer senses something wrong that is potentially very bad. It is your cars way of telling you to take it to the dealer so they can read the error codes in your computer.
Testimonial: "It gives a code for p0742. Torque converter clutch solonenoid stuck ON that was only a monetary code and has not came back. Also. Fluid starts off at normal level but as car warms up it will read higher and higher, more than possible due to expansion do to temperature"

i would change the filter and fluid first. Check engine light may give you more anwsers
SOURCE: What does it mean when the SLIP light comes on?
Our 2005 Nissan Quest does this exact same thing, but our check engine light is on also! We have taken it in and had the code checked and it said one of the cam shaft sensors was bad. We changed the one that was "bad" and had the code reset. If we put it into neutral and turn off the AC and radio and wait a few seconds we can usually restart it.
