SOURCE: illustrations of removal of power steering pump on

Here is a good link. Check out the video. Changing the pump is a pretty simple task, especially if you bought the pump with a new pulley. If you only have the pump you will need a pulley removal/installation tool. Check your belts to see if they need replacing because now would be a good time to do it since they have to come off to take off the power steering pump.

The Solenoid fitted on the Steering Rack is not getting the command from The Body Control Unit. Kindly Replace your BCM and then your problem is solved. You can try to make sure by giving direct current of 12v to the solenoid and check the Steering. if it works then simply change the BCM as it's not giving d command to the Solenoid. Salman EiD

My Honda CRV (1998) is making a high pitched whine sometimes when I'm driving. It seems to happen when the rpms are high before shifting (I own a standard transmittion CRV). It whines between 2.5 and 3...

Check your power steering fluid level. If too low the pump will whine like that. Put some in it if low. Don't buy power steering fluid, automatic transmission fluid is the same thing and is much cheaper.

Hi 2003 CRV looses power (including power steering) when idling. Drives fine when revs are up.

Check the charging system here why if you loose power steering at idle you loose charging capability thats why I want you to check the charging capability you should be at 14vlts the 2003 uses a Idlle air control valve and a good throttle body cleaner may restor you back on the road

On my 2003 Honda CRV Sport, When I lock me steering I get a grinding noise, does anyone what this is? Cheers Alan

if the noise only occurs at full lock then it is the pump clutch slipping which is normal.sounds awful but okay.

You need a line wrench or a crow's foot. Power steering lines are hard to deal with. The fittings are fine thread and hard to start. You can cross thread them easly.be carful.
