By security light you presumably mean the engine check light?
When a dash warning light comes on it is best to check the precise function in the vehicle handbook. If it is the engine check light, the system has noticed a fault and switched to the get-you-home programme. The fault will be held in the computer memory and a fault code read should reveal the cause of the fault.
Very few faults result in a breakdown though sometimes that happens...
I think you mean Pcm. But anyway yes it has constant power going to it as does the radio and security features if you have those. Could be bad battery, bad connection to the battery, faulty battery terminal or blown main fuse.
usually the security light comes on when the Chip on the key is not being read. this triggers the security light. With mine I had to replace the ignition switch to get it to read the key. If its just the light no problem, BUT if your car starts to develop a crank without starting this means its time to change that faulty ignition switch
They can be bench tested. This part is relatively inexpensive. Clicking coming from it usually means it`s gone out. Check the ground wire as well, make sure all connections are secure.
nothing.....??? what year, GRAND? all cars are wired different !!!
what do you want to work right. ????
say all that works and not.
heater fan?
heat? dead.
A/C dead>?
or does nothing mean the interior park/dim lights are dead, ALL?
please state one function that is dead.
i do not understand the security thing. where is it in the dash
are you talking the dash lamps are out.?
find fuse for the security system under hood if remote or switch does not turn it off pull this fuse out light should be out on dash when u find the right one then open door turn ignition switch on not crank just power on then replace security fuse then try to crank if dont work pull fuse again and the main 50 amp fuse that sends power to everything turn switch on leave door open replace fuses in proper places and then crank
do you mean 6he dash brake light indicator.....or the actual brake lights themselfs...if you mean the dash indicator...it could mean several things...first run a scan and pull the codes..it may be a pad sensor ..wheel speed sensor..brake fluid [ which you unplugged]..
This is the factory installed "Security" light. It blinks to let you know that the security system is active, and to ward off potential theives. It's part of the factory anti-theft system. Also, it is a diode, and consumes virtually no battery power.
Normal condition; nothing to worry about.
