Find the Key, Pray, Get praying friends to pray and who knows it may just turn up. Are you sure there is no other key around for it, (Previous owner?). Having security in the computer means replacing or resetting the system to insecure which costs about the same as the Key. Looks like you cant afford to NOT have a spare key.

Go to a different dealer. You can buy any amount of keys, you want. For example 1. Who is to tell you how many keys you have to buy??( I would be pissed if I were you) I would get 1 key and get it programmed. That will save you some money for now. Get more keys later. You will have to reprogram them again, but what you gonna do?? Those keys are about $80 and to program it should not be more than 1/2 hr. ($45?) Those keys are easy to program, not like the I-Keys, that Nissan has now. And as far as the company in California?? never heard of it, but I do know that there are places that make keys with a transponder that will fit your Maxima. They are about 1/2 the cost of a Nissan key + the programing. Good luck.
SOURCE: 95 jetta has no key. how can i start it with out ordering a new cylinder?
Well, without putting out a lot of details (not really sure how the vehicle is built):
Take the plastic covers off the steering column , in the back of where the key cylinder is located will be the actual ignition switch (separate from the cylinder) you can unbolt it from inside the column and turn the actuator in the switch (like you would with the key in the cylinder)(Acc/Off/On/Start...) with a screwdriver, a key or whatever...
I'm not sure if your car model has a "transponder key" that is a key with a built in chip for security purposes... Being a 1995 i don't think it does but i might be wrong. In this case there is a reader that wraps around the outer end of the cylinder which reads the transponder in the key.
When I did this with my 2000 Ford, (to which i had the transponder key), i took out the old cylinder (was bound up, had to drill and destroy it and most of the mechanism in the column), and when starting the car with a screwdriver in the ignition switch, all I had to do was hold the transponder key close to the side of the steering column where the cylinder was and that did the trick...
SOURCE: new 2009 VW Jetta has occaisional starting
Yes, we were told by our Service Manager that they are having issues with the 2.5 engine. But, don't know what the issue is. We were told to use 91 Octane fuel, purchase gas from Top Tier gas retailers and park the car in the garage (keep the car warm). The car should be able to run on the recommened low grade gas (stated in the owners manual). I have the Technical Bulletin from VW. It basicaly states us consumer are getting contaminated gas and we need to purchase gas at Top Tier retailer. Shame on VW for blaming the consumer on their engine issues. VW could be the new cover up?
