SOURCE: Vacuum Line Schematics

There are MANY sites with information as well as diagrams available created specifically for select areas of Vehicle maintenance. --NO sarcasm intended or implied--
Use Google or your preferred search engine and type in your Vehicle and you should receive a Phone Book of options.
Vacuum Lines are generally the same on the same Make of Automobile except of course for differing Engine sizes and years of Production, otherwise ask the person or persons that did the partial rebuild.

This is the way (Google) I usually discover what I'm seeking.

SOURCE: 97 dodge 2500 4x4 will not engage

On the axle there is a vacuum Actuator that engages a collar on the axle that engages the four wheel drive if the axel splines are worn or havent been lined up they will get burred and won't allow the collar to line up. You can remove the actuator and see the splines and determine if they need to be fixed.

SOURCE: Dodge Ram 2500 engine ping

Your ignition timing may have advanced too far. Or it is now where it should be and is making more cylinder pressure during combustion causing the gasoline to ignite to early causing detonation or ping.

Make sure the ignition timing is correct. If it is try better fuel meaning the octane rating.

If you can go up to the next octane level. For example if you are using 87 go to 89 and see if it goes away. 3 of my wife's last cars a 1986 Honda Prelude, 2000 Neon, and a 2003 Neon had some ping under medium to hard acceleration. She switched to 89 octane and the ping went away completely in each vehicle. Each of the vehicle had a good deal of miles on them.

The 2003 Neon has 75000 miles on it now and runs great on 89 octane. About a year ago I tried 87 Octane in her car and the ping came right back.

SOURCE: fuel pressure regulator had no vacuum line connected

another engineers wet dream. think of it this way . what is normally in the intake when the engine is running.. answer vacume, hence the regulator gets its vacume without a hose connected to it as its already in a full time vacume chamber.no hose required . ps be carefull to seat the regulator and o rings securely into the housing befor you reattach the secureing metal clip.

On the left rear axle of my f250 super duty (V12) there is what appears to be a vacuum line that is not attached anywhere. What is it and to what should it be fastened?

I believe you mean V10. Ford didn't put a V12 in the trucks. What your probably looking at is the vent for the rear axle. When you drive, the rear end oil heats up and expands. This "vent" allows the excess pressure to exit so the seals on the axles don't blow out. When you shut down and things cool oll it allows air to enter and replace the "vacum" created by the dropping temp of the oil.

1998 dodge Ram 1500 4X4. The heater/AC blows out of defrost vents only, I am told this most likely a vacuum line, If this is true where is the vacuum line located.

In the engine compartment, locate black vacuum hose that runs from brake booster check valve to intake manifold, there will be a small vacuum hose attached to check valve at the power brake booster check valve. This is the vacuum line going to the heater control unit, check the hose all the way to the firewall, repair any leaks you find. And that should take care of your problem.......GOOD LUCK

Ac wont come thru vent on 97 chevy blazer. ac will come out thru defroster and sometimes the floor vent but it isn't coming out of forward vents

Check the vac lines for leaks on the drivers side rear of the engine compartment. The ones going to the vac ball attached to the hood.

My nissan sunny GA15DE was overhauled but started having rough idle immediately threafter. what could have caused this? Gerald

Gerald:Was the engine overhauled because of the smoking problem? If so, the auto trans solution is more likely your problem. Good Luck
  • Automatic transmission? - Check vacuum line to transmission . The only line of rubber going to trans. Located where it attaches ro trans and rwmove it watching to see if it contains any trans fluid. If hose has oil in itm Then replace the valve it was attached to. The valve is called a transmission modulator. The diaphragm is rupture and aloowing engine vacuum to **** and burn the fluid. your trans should be needing fluid too often. Modulator around 12.00 last known.
  • Manual transmission ? - PCVvalve not bafflrd against drawing oil from its location in valve cover.and or Pcv valve is defective. Cheap fix-replace
