Have changed the fuel filter and australian motors ie mercedes in adelaide supposedly replaced low pressure fuel lines and o rings and connectors on fuel filter and replaced the module in the fuel tank ...it use to start 1st go until it stopped running and got back from repairs and now its a roll of the dice as to weather i can get it started , so replacing glow plugs and i have replaced with new an alternator and new battery could it be the fuel pumps if the glow plug replacement doesnt fix the starting problems
Shouldn't have to remove much to get at them. Does the glow plug lamp flash after the engine has started. I'm not sold on it being a glow plug issue, these engines start without them down to well below freezing without any real trouble, if it IS this its more likely to be a wiring issues rather than sudden failure of 4 glow plugs. Leak off pipes on the low pressure side, or an injection problem is more likely.

1999 Yukon Start Issue - I have replaced the octopuse, battery, fuel filter, fuel pump, still having problems starting in cold weather, sometimes after a heavy rain.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

if the pump is not working it may be the fuel shut off, look in owners manual for location.

change the flexible feed pipe for the servo it runs off the inlet manifold left side to a metal pipe,if this goes porous then idle is rough brakes dont work right and as it get hot it will run like a demented old woman who smoke 80 a day

right renew the glow plug timer/relay if you put a meter on the glow plugs when cold and turn ign on (with help) it should supply power for a about 20 secs ,time depends on outside air temperature ,if all else fails then do a colin --- use a push button switch, wired to a relay so glow plugs can be operated by pushing the switch which you will mount on the dash ,cant beat a manual overide system
