SOURCE: getting the error code P0442 with a ODB2 on 2004 Caravan

Code 442 indicates a vapor leak in the EVAP control system. Fuel vapors are routed through hoses to the EVAP charcoal canister, then via purge control valve, are rerouted through intake when engine running. Bad gas cap seal is the usual culprit, which you can try cleaning the seal & filler neck where it screws in, then erase codes & try again & see if it comes back, or may require new gas cap. Other areas to look is at hoses running to & from canister & purge valve for any crack that may be a source of leak.

SOURCE: Got error codes P0440, P0440 (pd), and P0442 which

It is probably a sensor that goes by the gas tank. I belive it is called a Fuel Vent Sensor Circuit. That should fix the problem.

SOURCE: I am getting Code p0442 Evap Emission system leak

these are hard to diagnose. First trace evap hose from fuel tank to evap cannister. Check for cracks in hose or loose connections. Check out cannister for cracks. Also check hose from cannister to intake manifold. If hoses are good, it may be leaky purge valve. Hope this helps.

So to answer your question no not all three, it would however triggerr the EVAP code p0442 , the other codes could have been original stored and just came out latter so cnacell all codes and see if any return.

Hello can some on help me with code p0442 on 2010 kia Sedona change vent value an one one on front of eng think can be pcv vale but where could it be

That error is an evaporative emissions control system leak. The most common cause is a bad gas cap. PCV valves have nothing to do with this. You need to locate the evaporative charcoal canister purge valve and check it.

P0442 is the code that I need to know what it means/2003 chevy blazer

A code P0442 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:

  • A loose or improperly affixed gas cap
  • A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand)
  • A small leak/hole in a fuel vapor hose/tube
  • Other small leak in EVAP system
  • Faulty vent o-ring seal
With a P0442, the most common repair is to:
  • Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.
  • Otherwise, replace the gas cap, or
  • Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses

P0455 and p0442

p0455-- emission control system ( a large leak ) the most common cause is a bad seal on fuel cap, remove and replace cap, if light stats on. replace cap. if not the cap it could be any where in emission system. p0442 is--same as above. Code p0442 indicates a fuel vapor leak in the EVAP control system. To fix this problem, remove and reinstall the gas cap. Clear the codes and drive to see if the codes reappear. If the code appears again replace the gas cap or inspect the system for cuts or holes in the tube or hose. good-day !

I'm getting p0442 code any help

P0442 Means you have a leak in your EVAP system.
The EVAP system prevents gas vapors from entering the air .
This code can be set by a leak in the lines os a clogged charcoal canister.
Most common reason is If you did not put your gas cap on all the way.
