If you did hook the cables up the wrong way on two batteries there would have been a blinding flash and a huge spark which would have blown the end off the jumper cables. Did this occur because if it did, then you may be lucky and have done no damage, or you may have done a lot of damage. If there was no huge spark, then I am unable to guess how you connected the two batteries and you need to be clearer about how you connected them up.

SOURCE: My wifes 2001 Honda Odysseys battery did in a parking lot. Mall security hooked up the jumpstart cables wrong (I guess) now it won't start at all. Could he have overloaded the fuse? and is there

you need to look at the fuses in the under hood fuse box f you look at the center of the fuse and see if the line is broken in the center if so its bad

I hooked the battery cables up backwards and it blew the magneto hooked the cables back the right way and it blew the magneto again the model#21R707-0011 10.5hp 344c

This doesn't sound like a car, but more like a riding mower or something.

Anyway, is it the magneto that "blew" or a fuse for the magneto? You don't mention that you replaced the magneto....

Some manufacturers incorporate reverse protection diodes that are supposed to cause a fuse to blow if the battery is hooked up backward. Unfortunately, the diode often becomes a short circuit when this happens and would explain why a primary fuse would blow again, even when the battery is hooked up correctly. If you have a wiring diagram for what you're working on, I'd suggest checking for a diode connected near the battery cables. If you don't have a wiring diagram for this, you're probably going to need one.

Cables hooked up wrong on t100, think blew 80 amp alt fuse, tried pull it and metal pieces stayed in, no power to truck now, if I replace this will it work and how do I replace it

No guarantee it will work. The only way is to try it and see.

For a fraction of a second many hundreds of amps will have flowed and that sort of current is likely to destroy any electronics not protected against reversed polarity.

You might be lucky...

You will have to do whatever it takes to fix the fuse from digging the bits out and cleaning up with great patience and small tools, bypassing it from under the fusebox with either a suitable in-line fuseholder and fuse or a suitable fusible link.

Good luck!

Hi, first thing to do and if you know location of the fuse box take light tester and test each fuse may you find some fuses blew. change theme first. if you change the fuses and the the problem for each item you describe still on that mean damage went to the items you say.

Fuse number 22 keeps blowing after friend jumpstart and blew 100amp fuse

Did he connect the cables wrong? I would have the alternator tested. I've seen bad alternators blow there fuses. If the cables were hooked up backwards, it may have damaged the alternator.

I blew the main fuse by jump starting it. I think that I hooked up post wrong and the main fuse did its job, as the car is not mine but my sons, I want to fix it.

you will have to replace that fuse first then re try it, good idea to charge the battery with the cables off if you have to wait and get the fuse.

Volvo 850 is dead after wrong polarity at charging

It is possible that you have melted a fuseable link. These are heavy guaged wires coming off the positive battery cable. Their purpose is to protect the electric system in the event of such a case.
