Location of fuel pump driver module on a 98 E 250 van

Thank you Jeff Armed, I had been told it did. My fuel pump runs about three seconds with gas line unhooked from the filter inlet, then stops. This from the key being turned on . Shouldn't it keep running since there is no line pressure? Happy Thanksgiving and thank you

Your vehicle doesn't have a FPDM . No fuel pressure ? fuel pump relay or inertia fuel shut off switch .

More than likely it's the distributor. They have a tendency to build up corrosion and rust and have personally went through the same situation three weeks ago on a suburban. Check to see if you are getting spark from the distributor first. Have the ecm in the distributor checked at Oriellys for free. It's under the rotor and has two 8mm head bolts with wires plugged in at each end.

SOURCE: fuel pump

Yes they are the same, the job of the fuel pump driver module is an electric voltage regulator that varies the voltage supplied to the fuel pump to slow it down, this makes it run very quietly and does away with the whine at idle that some people find annoying as I have found from personnel shop experience at the Ford dealer I worked for for 20 years..

SOURCE: 1999 ford econoline e 250 low voltage (7volts) at fuel pump, where is the relay located and how can it be identified?

The fuel pump relay should be near the driver side fender or the battery along with other relays. It should have a dark green and yellow wire that goes to the inertia switch, a red wire that goes to the EEC relay, and two other wires that may be light blue and orange.
The wire that powers the pump goes to the inertia switch then to the pump.

Ford E-250 Van. Location of fuel pump driver module and how to bypass temporarily.

Question edited for clarity. Please always include 'year'.
Question moved to model category.

You can't normally bypass modules because they are part of the computer network. They do more than you think they do.
