Driver side window will not go up sometimes. it will eventually but gets stuck a few times going up. THIS USED TO HAPPEN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, BUT SWITCHED TO THE DRIVERS SIDE A FEW MONTHES AGO. when this does happen the window goes up very slowly and stops a few times.

It depends, use a test light and while operating the switches one at a time verify that 12v is going to the motor. If so then the motor is faulty. It is a possibility that the drivers side is faulty, but also check the lockout switch on the drivers side, that goes faulty as well but if all other window are operating from their own control not the driver's then thats not a suspect

It sounds like it could be the window solenoid, or the window motor. It's unlikely the switches on both doors are bad. Check the solenoids and motors...

Before you replace anything, inspect the connector pins in both the driver's door switch and the passenger door switch. If you don't find any problem with these connector pins, replace the driver's door control switch.

Hi, has your car got global closing. Sometimes they forget their memory, normally after pulling a fuse or flat battery. Open all your windows, sunroof if you have one. Press the lock on your fob and keep held down, all windows should close, this also works for opening when you keep hold of the open button, try doing this a few times, eventually it restores memory. I also have a 2001 focus.

Maybe your motor just need the connections taken off and sprayed down with wd/40 to help the connection. Is this happening on the driver side? if so try useing the passenger side button and see if it opperates same way, it;s a different window motor> good luck to you.

sounds like your wendow regulator is going out

Try switching the power window switch from the passenger side to the drivers side. Before you do that try with the switch on the up position, wiggle it from side to side. The contacts may be worn and by wiggling it may make contact. Other then that try to park it in side or garbage bag taped to keep rain out till you get it to the shop.
Hint, take it to a Auto window repair shop to replace the switch if it's bad or if the motor is bad. They have more experience to removing the door panels and removing the power window regulator (motor) if that needs to be replaced.

it happen with me also actually the problem is the power window get jammed from the inner part..... you if you able to open it just open now clean it well then spray the lube into it and for a long time it work properly..... thankyou

Check the wiring between the drivers door and the A pillar(the body of the car). Sometimes the harness breaks from opening and closing the door.
