Try hitting your starter with a hammer,Lightly! and crank. assuming your lights are still bright, showing you have battery voltage.

SOURCE: my kia sedona wont start just click when turned on

Couple of things to try.

1. Check that the battery connections are both clean and tight on the battery.
2. Check water level in the battery is above the plates that you can see in the filler holes.
Caution:
(Handle the battery with care as the water in the battery has been charged and becone sulphuric acid which will burn your skin. Do not get this in your eyes.)

3. Turn the headlights on then start the vehicle, and if:
a) the lights dim the battery is not connecting properly or faulty, or:
b) the lights stay on full it would the starter motor relay or solenoid (part of the starter motor).

SOURCE: 2004 Kia Sedona wont start but i can hear starter.

if the starter is revving very slowly it is the battery, charge battery. if not, It can be three things happing. 1 no spark 2 no fuel 3 no crank signal or the car computer is bad- you will need to unplug one of the spark wires and remove the spark plug and put the spark plug in the spark plug wire boot, and touch the spark plug on any metal on the car and have some start the car. donot touch the spark plug itself and see if there is a spark. if spark is bright, then it is not spark plug and wires but if no or spark is not bright, check the spark plug wires by applying a little bit of water on the spark plug wire and take a 12v test light, connect the clap to ground and and have some one to crank the vehicle, touch allover the spark plug wires with the tip of the test light, if you see spark, replace the wires and change the plugs.. they are not good. if spark is present, check for fuel by removing any one of the spark plugs and see if it is wet. if wet fuel pump is ok but if not go look for the fuel pump fuse and relay. is fuse blown, replace, check the relay resistor with a volt meter. it should be around 40 to 80 ohm. if everything is good from this point check the fuel pump itself by disconnecting the connector to the pump and apply 12v and ground using jumper wires or some wires to the fuel pump if you donot hear the pump, replace pump. if you, the crank signal or computer may be the problem

SOURCE: car turns over but wont start it is a kia sedona

the car will not start if the immo light is not lit. sometimes turning the key back and forth or removing it and locking then unlocking the car can sometimes remedy this.

SOURCE: Kia Sedona won't start even with a new battery.

is it the 2.9 crdi?? if so it will be the glow plug timer relays. there are two and they are located in it the small fuse box just behind the big one under the bonnet. to confirm the fault. look at the front of the engine wher the intercooler pipe (a big black one) goes down onto a metal block square in shape. on the right side of this block is two connections connect one end of a jump lead onto this connection and the other end onto the positive terminal on the batt. count to ten the remove the lead from the batt. do this again and have a assistant start the car it should work. email me at [email protected] if you have any dramas

2006 kia sedona wont start p119

P0119 is a engine coolant temperature sensor code. If the vehicle is having trouble starting then most likely the sensor is telling the engine control module that the engine is overheating and therefore will not allow it to start easily.

2006 kia sedona shuts off while driving restarts after engine cools . crankshaft sensor code pulls up

The kia's seem to have problems with the crankshaft sensors. I just pulled up the 2004 Kia Optima Issues for them here in fix-ya and found step by step instructions for fixing it in the 4 cyl. cars. Warnings about doing it wrong can damage the engine and the the amount of work it involves lead me to think a mechanic would the best way to go. But if you research it more the 4 and V6 motors are different. While it runs I would take it to a shop because most people say their car just stopped.

Although its had a new battery and alternator it will not start without jump starting off another car

hi from uk if you are connecting jump leads the correct way ? ie positive from doner battery? to positive on your battery ? then the negative from doner battery must be connected to the engine of your car at a suitable point/earth (not to the negative battery terminal) ? if your car starts ok then try this remove jump leads from your battery then just connect a jump lead from your negative /eart terminal and the other end to the engine if car starts with this ? then your problem is the vehicles earth lead from battery is either loose/broken or corroded? check its connections at battery and the point it connects to engine usually with a bolt that connects clutch housing to rear of engine ? on most cars in fact may i suggest you checkall other earth cables/leads too these are thinner and connect at car body and to engine these are common faults that affect the various sensors for engine half the time due to poor or corroded connections to body hope this helps ?
