What can happen if on a hyundai matrix 1.6 the oil pump fails

that doesn't sound like a oil pump. if the car is overheating and the engine shuts down. Most likely you have blown a head gasket or jumped time. i would go with the head gasket if its overheating. hopefully its just the gasket and not a worped head.

Hyundai matrix 1.6 head gasket replacement

Unscrew the rocker cover and remove the top casing, most cars now have gasket seal rather than a gasket so check this. Put new gasket in place and then replace top casing, replacing the bolts back in the order they should be in, then put rocker cover back on...

Elantra 2004(Diesel, done 136,000km) Leak in Turbo Charger

A turbocharger can leak. Some of the gaskets might be shot and need to be replaced or a hose might need to be replaced. If the turbocharger itself is leaking and not a gasket then the turbo housing is probably cracked. If you get the turbocharger replaced it should last a good 20 years or so. The only thing that usually wears out on turbochargers are gaskets and thrust bearings.

Just bought r reg (1997) hyundai accent 1.3 the central locking dos'nt work and also just found out no fuse in abs in the fuse box please help

without havin a quick look i couldnt say about the central locking but my main suspect would be the drivers door lock ,its all integrated into the lock mechanism but sometimes i get them to work with a bit of a switch cleaner spray ,other times its the where the wires run through the rubber shroud from teh door to the door pillar,as for the abs well thats simple its just a case of isolating the fault on one of the sensors on the wheels ,they use a magnetic paint sort of stuff on the back of the wheel bearings and it can get damaged or corrode off on a uk reg vehicle .just myself a new car as well yesterday a 1998 rover 400 top of the range turbo diesel everything in fact for 150 euros UK reg so it will be given a proper service then my daughter can fly over and pick it up .Well pleased a much better buy that a hyundai as they are cheaply built and do suffer from problems you describe including a gearlever thats moves everywhere and collapsing seats plus a dash that warps and cracks .Pity about rover though as such a good quality build of car

I have a p reg corsa turbo diesel and the temp gauge runs high especially when idelling. normal running it drifts slightly need advice if this is fan switch, or temp sensor switches or something else. had...

hi errol, try loosening the highest hot hose clip,to vent any trapped air,(make sure the plastic bottle is full).
to test the fans, run a wire from the battery to the fan and if fans run then it could be the sensor or the relay.....relay cheapest.

Pressure buildup in cooling circuit of my xantia 1,9 diesel. no heated air inside car bubbles in radiator when lid turned open. no temperature reading on instrument on dashboard french car citroen xantia...

Combustion gas bubbles in the radiator coolant indicates a blown head gasket.
Take it to a radiator shop and get a combustion gas test to confirm.
Most likely will need cylinder head removed for inspection and replacement gasket fitted.
Absence of temperarure indication on dashboard may be due to electrical problem - check connections to temperature sensor etc.

Heater matrix has gone on my 405 diesel bypassed it

sounds like your inner cooler is leaking and is causing an air lock within your coolant system. Sorry to hear this, changing this part is time consuming. Hope this helps you.

The car's peformance has been poor, especially on picking from a stationary position (no power).

I would suggest to have the pump timing reset and probably have a diesel specialist to check the pump as well. It is very difficult to give extra help over the net as most of the things have been covered by the mechanic I supposed. But as per your description I think the pump may have not been timed properly or it may need overhauling as well.
Cheers
